::Considering the changes to the badges (Emblem of Heroism, Emblem of Valor, and Emblem of Conquest), that strongly suggests Bornakk really meant Tier 9 is being released. I did ask that exact question, buried in page 10 of the comments, but not response.

I wish to bring to the attention of the masses four words: Brood of Nozdormu set. I.E., it's not considered a true tier, but more of a...half-tier (the Brood sets are often called "Tier 2.5"). :So what, 8.75? We already have 8.5 - that's the tier that drops in Heroic Ulduar. Also make sure you've read that stuff about the badges I posted above. Doesn't prove anything but it's suggestive IMO. 1:24 AM, 21 Jun 2009 (EDT)

::All I'm saying is that I do not believe this is a true tier. For one thing, it's something of a deviation from the norm (WoW and BC had three tiers each, plus all the other sets), and for another, for all the talk of "challenge" and all that, this is just another VoA, something some idiots in blues will finish within the first day or two. That is, if the instance servers decide to work. Blizzard needs to stop making excuses about THAT, too...
|7th February 2008 – Instance boss pages changes!

|2=We've been making a couple of changes to boss pages - the instance navigation can now normally be found via a drop-down list at the end of the NPC infobox. Note that this site uses some JS, so we recommend turning it on if you have disabled it.

::As for the badge changes, I find it a little odd how a badge that only dropped in two instances (Emalon in VoA25 and everyone in Ulduar25) now drops everywhere. And this whole ability to convert them to the other two...my thought at first was "What's the point?" until I remembered that there are some things you can only get with the other two kinds (i.e. heirlooms for alts, the trinkets, shields, etc.) --Joshmaul (talk) 18:26, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

:::I think the point is (and there's a bluepost but I'm too lazy to find it), is to make the big bucks reach more people. They spent a LOT of money designing SSC, TK, Hyjal, BT, and Sunwell, and very few people saw them. Almost no guilds (probably less than 1% of all players) ever killed a boss in Sunwell. So there's a lot of planned obsolescence going on, but that's okay. Basically, I expect the new wow (3.0+) to always go thru planned and well timed nerfs. So special mounts (Amani War Bear) and other goodies will be available for people who do the "original dungeon" but for those who "want to see the content" - they'll just see it nearer to the end of the expansion rather than the beginning, allowing them to spend all the time they want on their 18 alts, or picnics with the kids. 3:00 PM, 30 Jun 2009 (EDT)

WoWWiki moving to Wikia! (1 May 2007)
Over the past few months, I've been thinking a lot about how to keep up with the needs of the WoWWiki community. I'm really proud of how WoWWiki has grown into a valuable resource for all World of Warcraft players, and want to make sure that it can continue to grow. As you've seen, I've had trouble keeping up with server issues, problems, and getting the upgrades and extensions that are needed to make WoWWiki better.

I've looked at a few options on how to solve this over the last month. When Jimmy Wales and Gil Penchina offered to let us move the wiki to Wikia, this seemed like a natural fit and I accepted. These guys have a record of treating communities well and running a great service, and I'm going to stay involved to help make sure that they deliver what our community needs.

In a bit of good news, the wiki will soon be updated to Mediawiki 1.9.2. The recent slowness has been very frustrating, we know, and we've been looking at reason as to why it occurs. Enter the Crusaders’ Coliseum | 2009-06-18 01:06 | Blizzard Entertainment Bornakk

In the next major content patch, the construction of the Crusaders’ Coliseum on the Argent Tournament grounds will be complete, and ...
 • New tier of armor and weapons that are modeled with Alliance- or Horde-specific themes.

Does this mean we are getting Tier 9 armor and weapons ?? -- !!!!

I was doubting it... but with heroic 5mans and naxx going to give conquest badges, they just made it simple to get at least 2 of the tier 8 pieces... so its possible they are introducing tier 9 here... SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 20:33, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Considering the changes to the badges (Spell holy proclaimchampion [Emblem of Heroism], Spell holy proclaimchampion 02 [Emblem of Valor], and Spell holy championsgrace [Emblem of Conquest]), that strongly suggests Bornakk really meant Tier 9 is being released. I did ask that exact question, buried in page 10 of the comments, but not response.

PTR Patch 3.2.0 Notes | 2009-06-18 17:57 | Blizzard Entertainment Zarhym

Emblem System Changes
 • Both the 10 and 25 player instances of the Crusaders' Coliseum drop a new Spell holy summonchampion [Emblem of Triumph].
 • Any dungeons that previously dropped Spell holy proclaimchampion [Emblems of Heroism] or Spell holy proclaimchampion 02 [Valor], such as Naxxramas or Heroic Halls of Stone, will now drop Spell holy championsgrace [Emblems of Conquest] instead. Emblems of Conquest can still be converted to Valor or Heroism.
 • The Heroic dungeon daily quest will now reward 2 Emblems of Triumph and the normal daily dungeon quest will reward 1 Emblem of Triumph.
 • The existing achievements to collect 1, 25, 50, etc. Emblems of Heroism, Valor, and Conquest have been converted to Feats of Strength since Heroism and Valor Emblems are no longer attainable.
 • New achievements have been added to collect various amounts of any combination of emblems.

Tier 8.5, perhaps...

I wish to bring to the attention of the masses four words: Brood of Nozdormu set. I.E., it's not considered a true tier, but more of a...half-tier (the Brood sets are often called "Tier 2.5"). Something to tide us over for the real Tier 9, perhaps. --Joshmaul (talk) 04:39, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

So what, 8.75? We already have 8.5 - that's the tier that drops in Heroic Ulduar. Also make sure you've read that stuff about the badges I posted above. Doesn't prove anything but it's suggestive IMO. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 1:24 AM, 21 Jun 2009 (EDT)
All I'm saying is that I do not believe this is a true tier.
As for the badge changes, I find it a little odd how a badge that only dropped in two instances (Emalon in VoA25 and everyone in Ulduar25) now drops everywhere.
I think the point is (and there's a bluepost but I'm too lazy to find it), is to make the big bucks reach more people. So special mounts (Ability druid challangingroar [Amani War Bear]) and other goodies will be available for people who do the "original dungeon" but for those who "want to see the content" - they'll just see it nearer to the end of the expansion rather than the beginning, allowing them to spend all the time they want on their 18 alts, or picnics with the kids. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 3:00 PM, 30 Jun 2009 (EDT)

Boss names

Where from are the boss names taken? I didn't see them on MMO-Champion. And why are the bosses listed in 5-man the same as quest-giver NPCs? Runok is the Tauren Argent Leader for example. They're all friendly. --User:ShandrisForever 08:19, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Trial of the Crusader will be the final demonstration of skill and teamwork champions of each faction have learned in their Tournament career since they became Aspirants, and this final challenge against the greatest of the Alliance and the Horde will decide who is worthy of the promotion to Grand Crusader (this is not an attunement to the raid instance).Orisai (talk) 20:45, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Now... on the Trial of the Grand Crusader raid instance. It's just me, or the unknown final boss will be no other than Anub'arak? There's an achievement named The Traitor King for the raid instance, in all 4 versions of it.Orisai (talk) 20:51, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Yes you're right, the final boss is 99.9% chance of being Anub'arak. He now has a frost form. --User:ShandrisForever 21:26, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Damn it! He needed to die to get some importance in the game...
IconSmall Hamuul Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 21:32, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

He deserved better than dying in a 5 man so it will be nice if he makes a final return here. Leviathon (talk) 18:27, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

It Makes Perfect Sense!
You know Trial of the Crusader/Grand Crusader?? It's actually an Azjol-Nerubian type of instance, and it makes perfect sense that the final boss is a Crypt Lord! Don't you think? --User:ShandrisForever 08:20, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
For the quest about the source of the boss names, they are taken from the Achievement tab, except for the Trial of the Champion (or it's just I can't find them)
IconSmall Hamuul Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 15:14, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
The Trial of the Champion achievement is under the Lich King Dungeon tab on the PTR. Leviathon (talk) 02:56, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Gratz :)
But so reverted the Alliance/Horde as it was. You fight the champions of the opposite faction.
IconSmall Hamuul Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 10:18, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Anub'arak is confirmed as the final boss. Today's PTR build added the voiceovers and Anub'arak is one of them. Leviathon (talk) 00:07, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

If it's only through datamining, that makes no confirmation :)
Beside they changed the achievement, I can't have the boss name anymore!
IconSmall Hamuul Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 09:46, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Well since its datamined you can't 'confirm' it on the site but in general we know the final boss is now Anub'arak (similar to how it was known Yogg was the final boss of Ulduar). Leviathon (talk) 13:44, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Likely but unconfirmed. There were blueposts about Spell holy powerwordbarrier [Power Word: Barrier], and it fell through after a while, and it wouldn't be the firs time. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 3:07 PM, 30 Jun 2009 (EDT)
You don't do voice acting for a boss to not add it. The achievement even points to a boss id called Anub'arak. It is confirmed but just can't be added to the page due to the means of finding it out. Leviathon (talk) 08:25, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Precisely! The confirmation is only for you in fact! :)
IconSmall Hamuul Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 08:41, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Anub'arak

Looks like he's live on the PTR now. Can't have much more confirmation than that. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 00:54, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Scourge

Last night, I saw how the Twin Val'kyr tried to attack the Coliseum, but were quickly subdued by the Argent Confessor and two priests, who later shackled them in front of the gate from which bosses enter to the Arena.Orisai (talk) 03:12, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
