Make sure you follow the exact instructions - e.g. polygon areas always come first. The description clickable does not show on thumbs.
An inputbox allows you to put a box on any page, which has a text field for users to fill and a customizable button for launching the action.
There are three types: the article creation box (which is a quick way to create a new page), the search box (which uses the default wiki search), and the comment box (which adds a section to the bottom of a page, under a new section header -- equivalent to the "+" tab).

<poem> In [[Wikipedia:Xanadu|Xanadu]] did Kubla Khan A stately pleasure-dome decree: Where Alph, the sacred river, ran Through caverns measureless to man Down to a sunless sea. So twice five miles of fertile ground With walls and towers were girdled round: And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills, Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree; And here were forests ancient as the hills, Enfolding sunny spots of greenery. </poem>

The RSS2Wiki extension allows you to embed RSS feeds from any site onto a Wikia page. This could be used to display news feeds, to show entries from a related blog, or to show recent changes from another wiki. MediaWiki also provides RSS feeds for all history pages and many special pages, including Special:Recentchanges and Special:Newpages. You can use the RSS url, in combination with RSS2Wiki, to display portions of these lists on other pages on your wiki.

See Template:YouTube on Wikia Help for an example of using videos correctly in templates -- because of the order in which templates and extensions are processed, the <youtube> extension code itself cannot contain template parameters.
Wikia's new skin is now available! See http://www.wowwiki.com/Main_Page?useskin=monaco&usetheme=slate for an example, or set it via Special:Preferences. This will show you the page layout and features, such as drag-and-drop widgets in the sidebar (see below).
- Help:Monaco skin features on Wikia Help - brief overview of what's new in the skin
- Help:Customizing Monaco on Wikia Help - how to customize it
Note especially the following:
- The sidebar menu
- The sidebar toolbox
- Widgets (see below)
- Special:Activeusers - all users who have edited 5+ times.
- Special:Contact - get in contact with Wikia Staff.
- Special:ProblemReports - used for reporting problems.
- Special:InviteSpecialPage - invite friends to join Wikia.
- Special:Withoutinterwiki - pages without interwiki links to other language versions. Pretty much all of them.
- Special:Linksearch - allows you to search for specific URL mentions on the wiki. Good for tracking down spam.
The Monaco skin includes draggable widgets that can be added to your sidebar, customized, collapsed and rearranged at will. Select MORE --> Manage widgets from your userbar in the top right corner to see a scrollable list, go to Special:Widgets for a static list, or visit Special:WidgetDashboard to view the contents of the widgets without adding them to your sidebar.
See Help:Widgets on Wikia Help for more info.
You can also embed widgets in articles - see Help:WidgetTag on Wikia Help.
Other new stuff
This "magic word" changes the page title displayed in the top-level header at the top of the page, without changing the url. This allows the displayed title to start with a lowercase letter (e.g. eBay), or to contain special characters that would otherwise cause trouble in URLS, such as "+" or "&".
Restore deleted images
Admins can now restore deleted images! (Likely only applies to images deleted after the upgrade).
More uploadable file types
You can now upload: .png, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .ico, .ogg, .pdf, .xcf, .svg, .mid, .jl, .odt, .ods, .odp, .odg, .odc, .odf, .odi, and .odm.
Global css and js
Other new stuff
- EditSimilar suggests similar articles to edit upon page save.
Autoconfirmed means something!
A user is now "autoconfirmed" 4 days after account creation.
Edit Page Enchancements
- Edit Page Enhancements give you several new abilities on edit pages.
