Improved Faerie Fire | |
---|---|
Requirements | |
Class | Druid |
Talent required | None |
Properties | |
Affects | [Faerie Fire] |
Improved Faerie Fire is a tier 7 balance druid talent. It is primarily a raid utility talent, but it also buffs the druid's own DPS. Speccing into Improved Faerie Fire (and using it on bosses) will allow a balance druid to itemize differently, as the hit from the talent will make up for any missing hit from gear.
Rank table
Rank | Effect |

2 | 2% |
3 | 3% |
Notes
- The crit benefit to the balance druid from this talent works even if the faerie fire on the target is not from the balance druid.
Tips and Tactics
- Improved Faerie Fire is always useful to specc for a raid. The hit from the talent does not stack with Misery from shadow priests, but the buff lasts much longer and does not depend on other abilities to work (unlike misery). Debuffs like Improved Faerie Fire and Misery allow the spellcasters of the raid as a whole to drop hit from their gear for more offensive power.
- It is generally unwise and unnecessary to cast Faerie Fire for hit on mobs that are not bosses, as the hit cap is lower for lower leveled enemies.
Patch changes
Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Removed.
Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Now also increases the druid's chance to get a critical strike with spells by 1/2/3% on targets afflicted by Faerie Fire, but no longer works with ranged and melee hit %.
