During the war between the Alliance and Horde, Weng served as a contingent of the Golden Lotus where he was sent to the Shrine of Two Moons to seek a new guardian among the children there, and assist Zhi the Harmonious in performing a "simple test" which would find the child. When one of Sunwalker Dezco's children is chosen by Chi-Ji, Dezco declined to the order's expectations and decided to return to Mulgore with his children. When the order learned of Dezco's departure through the embattled Vale, a small party led by Weng, Rook, and Mokimo the Strong, were sent to intercept Dezco in order to protect him and his children. When the party encountered Dezco, who was travelling with a group of refugees, Weng assisted in feeding the refugees as they spend the night between villages. Later that night, the group was attacked by Quilen, and Weng was forced to defend the group along with Mokimo. When Mokimo and Rook move to attend to the mogu responsible to the attack, Weng chose remained behind to protect the refugees and bring them to the Shrine for sanctuary.
