RE: Forsaken using the light Edit

Sign your posts with four tildes (~~ ~~). As you said, the refernce for the mob should be deleted as it doesn't specify if it uses the light. However, the quest specifically says: "But before you can know the dark, you must also know the light. And for this, I have a test for you."; so the NPC teaches you to know the light with a quest that makes you use a healing ability to another NPC, that means that they are knowing how to use it. And, about the TCG, I don't remember seeing that anywhere, without providing a citation saying that the TCG isn't an official source then I won't believe it. I see you're trying to discuss this, but edit warring at the same time does not help your cause. Please don't remove the reference again without waiting for the discussion to continue. User:Coobra/Sig4 05:41, September 3, 2009 (UTC)

I have the main post in the forsaken discussion but for quick reference.

Balance between Light and Shadow

While the undead can no longer use the Holy Light, and have learned how to use the Shadow, they also preach that there must be a balance between Light and Shadow, and that they must learn the Light as well, but never forget they were born from the Shadow.HPG 160

Very similar to the quest text and this unless it as I say contradicts itself, means the forsaken are not using the light.

Also do Night Elves use the light to heal? The answer is no. Knowing the light IMO means, "knowing the healing arts", Knowing the dark means "knowing the shadow tree". Add to that the Forgotten Shadow article and the fact there are no stated light wielding forsaken in game the reference becomes really weak. Being able to heal does not mean you have to use the light to actually do it. Healing is just one aspect of the light like the other virtues.

My issue is that the quest is not clear that you are using the light. It's subjective. The other reference I have to admit is not. It flat out says (without using "use") that Hero uses the light. The quest does not.

I was going by (unless I found the neutral source info) by what I have seen said as canon sources (by blues, devs, Metzen). They said Books, stuff on the website and the RTS, and manuals. I just assumed the rest would not be canon.

Fired from the Canon Edit

Lore has a useful discussion about lore, that you might examine, if you haven't already. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 17:49, September 3, 2009 (UTC)

clicked the wrong button Edit

Next time they have a twitter/blizzcast with Metzen I am gona pin him down and ask...

So in Blizcast 7 you mentioned the Order of the Silver Hand in Cataclysm. Will the Humans and Dwarves finally get a visible OotSH? Will Turalyon be leading it, will we have a tabard...

While I still don't think that "quest" is an example of forsaken using the Holy Light, it's sorta moot now. We have the Holy beef to worry about (oh the fun lore arguments regarding what "light" they use) and the whole change in Cata regarding all the lore/class quests.

Btw thanks for the link I just felt like rambling off topic.
