WoWpedia issues Edit

Hi Pcj,

I am still unable to claim my account on - I tried and so far failed: always incorrect password.

a lot of editors are having this same problem, as much as I try, I cannot log in. why not simply use captcha's for all unregistered users? The more difficult it is to log on, the less editors you will have. The strength of wikipedia and wikia is anyone can edit, and it is easy to edit. Anno1404 (talk) 17:58, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

Buying outEdit

An editor on the Anti-wikia skin alliance had a very interested comment.

I was recently approached by Angela Beesey of Wikia with an offer to buy out my ownership of Battlestar Wiki. Of course, this is not the first time we have been offered “free hosting” in return for some fancy tools and gizmos. Gil Pechina, CEO of Wikia, had approached me more than a year ago and wanted us to move to Wikia.[1]

Wikia offered this editor a lot of money. I am interested, did World of Warcraft get bought out to move? And if so, did WoW have to pay to split off?

have other sites been offered cash to move to wikia? If so what names?

The reason I ask, is it possible that these larger wikias have leadership which has been paid handsomely to move to wikia. The surround themselves with editors who will do anything they ask, and so they don't really have the best interest of the community in mind, when editors say, "we want to leave" and the wikia staff and those they have surrounded themselves with say: "we are staying".

Please respond to me here or on my talk page. Thank you. Anno1404 (talk) 17:58, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

The original owners of WoWWiki were given money to come to Wikia initially, they are long since gone and no one remaining in the admin staff (of Wowpedia) was part of that pay-off. --PcjWoWWiki admin (TDrop me a line!C58,926 contributions and counting) 18:33, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

blah blah rocks wowwiki sucks etc. Will you delete me or are user talk pages still retaining some semblance of inviolability? --PcjWoWWiki admin (TDrop me a line!C58,926 contributions and counting) 00:07, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

To use your own words... Edit

...stop being an asshat. You have your own playground. If you make another BS random comment which is clearly just to say how WoWWiki sucks and Wowpedia is better and repeat the same things you've already said, I will ban you. Not for breaking any policy, just because you're an asshat. --Gengar orange 22x22Beware the sneaky smile! Fandyllic (talk · contr) 11:26 PM PST 10 Dec 2010

Seriously? I haven't said anything mean. If that's the way you feel, you can have your playground here then. --PcjWoWWiki admin (TDrop me a line!C58,926 contributions and counting) 08:00, December 11, 2010 (UTC)
