Views on MMOs Edit

MonJoe is a veteran of Star Wars Galaxies and World of Warcraft and he does not like what is becoming of the MMO industry.

Star Wars GalaxiesEdit

Before WoW was released Sony Online Entertainment held a large portion of the MMO market. SOE was only after the buck so they produced low quality games. SWG was rushed and released with half of what it promised. Olde SWG was great though for several things: it had a skill tree based system instead of a level based system; the planets may have been barren but that opened the possibilities of player cities, dynamic adventures, and much to explore; the npcs used to interact with eachother providing much more excellent adventures; the graphics were terrific; its Star Wars. Then SOE saw that because many people were leaving because the devs did not understand that bugs and massive class inbalances were not very fun to deal with so they did a major overhaul adding a level based system. More and more left to play WoW so SOE decided to create a WoW clone. A brand new game was made with static classes and a poor attempt to make WoW style quests. Now SWG is littered with thousands of Jedi when, according to the movies, there should be two and no one hunts because anyone can solo the most powerful of beasts.

World of Warcraft Edit

WoW brought something fresh to the MMO market. Although the Warcraft universe is still the overused genre of fantasy and the story of Warcraft is no way as large and detailed as Star Wars and Lord of the Rings it put many good things about MMOs and presented it very well with an excellent team of devs. Unfortunately the game is level based, the world is small so there is no way to have player cities, and the npcs and quests are always the same no matter how many times you play the game. When you play WoW you don't feel like apart of a world that is on the brink of war between the nations of the Alliance and the nations of the Horde, instead you feel like you're playing a game with the sole purpose of increasing your character's power. The good thing though is that it has introduced millions of news gamers to MMOs and has sent SOE a run for their money.

It sounds like it has made the right choices in choosing type of gameplay such as largest MMO world ever, skill based system, hardcore pvp which makes you feel like a regular soldier instead of a hero. (SWG and Wow have both shown that having thousands of 'heroes' on one server isn't very fun.) Unfortunately the games has been in production since 2000 and the graphics are outdated. We can only hope.

Views on Night Elves Edit

They give both hunters and the Alliance a bad name. They'll make you travel far distances to help them then either get you killed or leave right after you get there. In dungeons they'll bail or cause the party to wipe. They'll complain about everything and have no sense of humor. No real man would actually play the metrosexual that is known as the Night Elf. (Their dance is Michael Jackson for crying out loud!)

Charcters Edit
