Sylvanas Windrunner

Lich King

About 20,000 Forsaken
of all kinds

As the Lich King prepared to crush Azeroth once and for all, he realised that some of his greatest enemies could be used as powerful weapons. The Forsaken, who had broken free years before and sworn to destroy him, had got no further with their plans, and in their frustration were becoming reckless. Their anger and fear leaving their minds open to external domination. And the Lich King deemed the time had come to reclaim his wayward subjects.

On the eve of Hallow's End, as the sun set below the Great Sea, he summoned all his mental might and sent it crashing down on the vulnerable minds of the Forsaken. Unprepared they quickly succumbed, one by one falling into darkness. Against this invisible onslaught few could survive, and those that resisted were slain by their former friends. By daybreak all Tirisfal Glades and the Undercity beneath were once more under Scourge control.

Sylvanas Windrunner and her private guards were the only ones left with free will, and then only because of powerful spells the Banshee Queen had put around them in case of such a disaster. But for the remainder of the war they were trapped in the Royal Quarter, with no way past the slavering zombies waiting outside, and all the while the powers of the Lich King battered at her own. Slowly weakening her.
