Apprentice Journeyman Expert Artisan Master

Engineering is a Primary Crafting profession that can create as many useful and amazing items as it can create junk. Engineers can create helpful items for generally all classes to be used in PVE or PVP, sadly most of these items come with a chance for unexpected and hilarious results. Because of this "chance" mentality, the Engineering profession has been never looked on as serious.

The most notable of the Engineering Profession Recipes, known from now on as Schematics, are the [Field Repair Bot 74A], the [Goblin Jumper Cables], and the [Gyro-balanced Khorium Destroyer]. The latter of which can be sold for quite a large sum of money, and the former two are a must for longer raids.

As of patch 2.2 Engineering is an open profession with items for all classes, but generally benefits Hunters, Mages, Priest, and Warlocks the most.

History in the World of Warcraft Edit

Patch 2.1 Edit

In patch 2.1 came a major overhaul to the Engineering Profession once it became apparent that leveling to skill max of 375 gave little to no rewards, level 60 schematics were useless, and that compared to other Profession, engineering was lacking.

In Light of this Blizzard created 11 Epic helm Schematics, Frost Grenades, and the [Gyro-balanced Khorium Destroyer].

  1. [Tankatronic Goggles]
  2. [Justicebringer 2000 Specs]
  3. [Furious Gizmatic Goggles]
  4. [Living Replicator Specs]
  5. [Magnified Moon Specs]
  6. [Powerheal 4000 Lens]
  7. [Surestrike Goggles v2.0]
  8. [Wonderheal XT40 Shades]
  9. [Deathblow X11 Goggles]
  10. [Gadgetstorm Goggles]
  11. [Destruction Holo-gogs]

With these adjustments the Profession was reborn into an attractive alternative since all 11 helms are comparable to Tier 5

Patch 2.3 Edit

With Patch 2.3, rumors are circulating of flying epic and normal mounts along with new repair bots. [1]

Schematics Edit

Schematics are learned mostly via trainers all over Azeroth and Outlands, but more than any other Profession can be learned via vendors.

Specialization Edit

Engineering, like Tailoring and Blacksmithing, has the opportunity to specialize in one field or another. Engineering has the option at skill level 200 to specialize in Gnomish or Goblin Engineering. The main difference between both sides is the location of their respected teleporters and the ability of their trinkets. Fortunately, most recipes that are native to one Specialization can be worn by both, namely [Goblin Jumper Cables XL].
