Akil'zon is a boss of the level 85 version of Zul'Aman. He is considered the first boss of the instance and can still be found on the altar to the north-west.
−
Trash mobs are often easier to kill than the bosses of the dungeon in that area. They are usually viewed as an annoyance by players, since they are the tedious and time-consuming preamble to boss fights. However, in dungeons such as the Molten Core and Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, they are usually a good measure of the raids' ability to kill the upcoming boss.

As a former shaman of the Amani tribe, Akil'zon had a preternatural ability when working with the element of air. This talent caught the eye of Hex Lord Malacrass and made finding a host for the trolls' eagle god an easy task.

In most dungeons, killing trash awards a small amount of reputation. In the Molten Core, trash mobs drop materials necessary for crafting fire resistance items, as well as two of the eight Tier 1 set pieces (the bind on equip wrist and belt pieces). In Zul'Gurub, killing trash mobs can yield bijous, coins, and reputation. In the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, they drop idols and scarabs.

Etymology
;Akil'zon
−
The term trash mob derives from the term yard trash which was coined in the late '90s MMORPG Everquest. In that game, a low-level dungeon, Unrest, is composed of a house, which contains several bosses, surrounded by front, side, and back yards. In the yards, there are yard trash. Lower level players shout for groups to kill yard trash for experience either before they are high-leveled enough to kill the bosses or when all the bosses are camped.
