Torch Juggler is an achievement related to the seasonal world event called the Midsummer Fire Festival. Completing this achievement is an objective of the meta achievements [The Flame Keeper] and [The Flame Warden].
Locations
[Juggling Torches] are not soulbound, so they can be purchased on the auction house or traded from another player. However, you can also buy them for 5 for a stack of 5 from Midsummer Merchants, Midsummer Suppliers, or a limited amount from the one-time quest, [1] Torch Catching / [1] Torch Catching.
Strategy
- Preparation
You should collect a minimum of 15 [Juggling Torches] beforehand. You will need a minimum of 15 because there is an animation of the torch flying in the air before it is caught. During that animation, the torch is not in any inventory. Note that these can be traded, mailed, sold, etcetera. If you are critically short on [Burning Blossoms], you can mail these from an alt, bum them off of guildies, etc. Note that these torches are reuseable. If you have less than 40, you will be reusing them while getting the achievement.
You must also be able to juggle torches. That is, you must complete Torch Catching.
Second thing to note: You must be in Dalaran. No matter how fast you catch, you won't notice any progress, if you aren't in Dalaran. Further, you should be somewhere that you are unlikely to be interrupted by bystanders. Juggling torches are a targetted effect, and one person (at random) in the area of effect will catch the torch. That person might not be you. Archmage Vargoth's Retreat is one such place, there are many others.
- Solo Performance
Put the juggling torches on a hotkey, or even two (so you can jam both back and forth). Hit the hotkey, click over yourself. There is no cooldown on the torches, so you can literally toss torches as fast as you can do both clicks. Using a hotkey means you don't have to move the mouse.
Be sure to click on yourself, so you don't lose any of the torches. This way, if you don't go fast enough, you can just try to spam faster until you complete the achievement.
- Other notes
Two or more people can complete this achievement at roughly the same time by tossing to each other. This is also more showy, and more subject to interruption by bystanders. More torches are required, because more torches will be in the air at the same time. However, as few as 10 each may be required to sustain the speed needed for the achievement.
