The War in the Broken Isles was a conflict in which the Burning Legion prepare for their third invasion on the world of Azeroth. Together, the Alliance, Horde, Kirin Tor, Dragonflight, and other factions unite to put a stop to the Legion's attempted plan and defeating their leaders.
Near the end on the war in the alternate version of Draenor, champions from the Alliance and Horde united to stand against the demonic shadow that Gul'dan summoned to conquer Draenor and every living world in the universe. Just when a dying Archimonde sent Gul'dan Draenor to the present time of Azeroth, Gul'dan was alone, but soon discovered that the Shadow Council in prime timeline still remained active and took control.
Venturing alone to the Broken Isles, Gul'dan made his way the Vault of the Wardens. The Wardens awoke the demon hunters of the Illidari. He would then use his power to open a gateway portal inside the tomb of Sargeras, which enabled the might of the original burning shadow to cross through into Azeroth once again. Khadgar sensed what was happening and traveled to every part of the world to warn that the Burning Legion has returned. Now that the Legion is about to prepare its ultimate invasion, many factions, such as the Alliance and Horde, unite and send their forces to the Broken Isles.
Assault on the Broken Shore Edit
At the beginning of the battle, every neutral faction sent their own armies to invade the Broken Isles. King Varian Wrynn also led a small military force and noticed the arrival of a Horde vessel that Sylvanas Windrunner commanded. Their job was to land and engage the Legion, and destroy the gateway. However, the first battle was known to be a horrible massacre. Some of the world's best fighters were killed while those that lived were wounded or were captured.
