The Skyfire is the name of the Alliance gunship used by Thrall and the raid in the Dragon Soul raid. It is identified by name after the fight, when says "Welcome aboard Skyfire."
The gunship carries Thrall, Swayze, its crew and the raid group after Deathwing as he flees. The fight against occurs aboard Skyfire, as Twilight drakes attack the gunship in an attempt to shoot it down. The raid group must down Warmaster Blackhorn before the Twilight drakes are able to damage Skyfire enough to destroy it. Players are capable of standing in the Twilight Blasts that damage Skyfire, and by doing so they can prevent damage to the gunship by taking it themselves.
Skyfire is also visible, along with a currently unnamed Horde gunship, flying around Wyrmrest Temple in Hour of Twilight. The Horde gunship seen here is destroyed by Deathwing at the end of the Ultraxion fight.
In Mists of Pandaria EditThis section concerns content exclusive to Mists of Pandaria.
The Skyfire also appears in Mists of Pandaria, playing an extensive role in the Alliance intro to the expansion. After the flagship carrying Anduin Wrynn disappears, King Varian Wrynn sends an elite force to Pandaria to rescue him. Adventurers then board the upgraded Skyfire, which takes them to the newly discovered continent. A force of Adventurers, Marines, Gyrocopters, and SI:7 Agents then attack and eliminate a Horde Base at Garrosh'ar Point. The Alliance force is then attacked by the Sha, but they manage to fight their way out of the base. The gunship remains hovering over the Jade Forest until Sky Admiral Rogers is redeployed, at which point the Skyfire moves to another part of the front.
In the Mists of Pandaria Beta Edit
Early in the Mists of Pandaria Beta, the gunship that crashed on the Wandering Isle was also named the "Skyfire". It was later changed to "Skyseeker" for in Patch 5.0.4, but evidence of the Skyseeker on the Wandering Isle was not seen by players until Patch 5.0.5 (expansion release).
