Why not rephrase this as it will be removed with patch 4.0? We did the same thing with Wrath of the Lich King and patch 3.0.2. --User:Gourra/Sig2 11:22, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

Makes sense to me. - Sikon (talk) 01:49, August 11, 2010 (UTC)

Since the Cataclysm seems to be divided into two parts (patch 4.0.1 and patch 4.0.3), this would have to be split somehow - mostly abilities and talents in the former patch. --User:Gourra/Sig2 22:00, September 17, 2010 (UTC)

I would imagine that we'd just go in and replace it with either removedfromgame|patch=4.0.1 or removedfromgame|patch=4.0.3 as necessary, then deprecate and delete it. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 22:11, September 17, 2010 (UTC)
I'd agree, it seems this template and it's categories would simply get too confusing patches down the road when say if something is removed in 4.2.0, users might use this template, rather than removedfromgame|patch=4.2.0, simply because it falls under the Cataclysm patch. User:Coobra/Sig4 22:50, September 17, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, it's mostly just to organize what will need to be removed. Not that covers anywhere near everything it needs to, of course... -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 00:49, September 18, 2010 (UTC)
How about something like this: make it look like {{Removedfromgame}} but replacing File:Icon-stub-48x48.png with the image on this template, so that it would show it's a Cataclysm patch (4.0.x) that it's getting removed in. Once 4.0.1 is close (about 1 week?) this template would redirect to {{Removedfromgame}}. Those articles that doesn't have a patch specified, for example {{Removedwithcataclysm}} instead of {{Removedwithcataclysm|<4.0.1>}}, would be tagged to get a patch specified. Mostly abilities and talents would be tagged with 4.0.1. -- Gourra (talk · contr) 16:41, September 18, 2010 (UTC)
I thought 4.0.1 was basically the patch change the way classes work, that most of the content would be changed/removed in 4.0.3... though if 4.0.3 is the xpak.. what patch introduces the new world for those that don't get the xpak? User:Coobra/Sig4 20:18, September 18, 2010 (UTC)
4.0.3 is all the new stuff with Cataclysm (content patch), 4.0.1 is largely ability/talent changes. Or so I've heard. --User:Gourra/Sig2 15:23, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
Basically, yeah. 4.0.1 has all the class changes and likely the pre-expansion events, 4.0.3 will have everything else. Sort of like 2.0.1 and 2.0.3. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 15:57, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
