Mind Sear is a Priest AoE base ability first gained at level 75. The ability is cast upon an enemy target but only affects other enemies around the target and not the actual target itself. Each individual hit will stack Spell shadow blackplague [Shadow Weaving].

Rank table

Rank Level Shadow Damage (per second) Cost
1 75 183 - 197 1g
2 80 212 - 228 10g

Notes

This AoE is particularly effective when used by a Shadow Priest as it will allow them to instantly stack Shadow Weaving, assuming there's enough enemies in range of the AoE.

The actual AoE does not hit the target itself, rather it has an "Eye of the Storm" effect on them. This spell is therefore ideally useful in situations where an Elite mob, or higher health mob, comes with smaller, less powerful adds. The elite can be loaded up with DoTs and then Mind Seared, hitting the other mobs around him whilst still having damage running on the original elite.

A bad point about this spell is that when the mob it is being cast on dies, the spell stops channeling, meaning the Priest will have to find another mob to cast it on.
