Server:Runetotem US

I've unblocked User:Sirus011 -- it is my general impression that you both acted in relatively good faith in reverting each others' edits, although lacking discussion about (both of) your rationales caused problems. This isn't a statement of support for either party; I just believe that the disputed content needs to be discussed. It is my understanding that it will not be re-added to the page before consensus about whether it violates the wowwiki policies is reached.

To this end, you should work with each other to figure out which parts of the disputed edits, if any, breaks wiki policies, and (hopefully) arrive at a tenable agreement as to what should, and what should not, be included in the article. -- foxlit (talk) 22:15, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Runetotem:US Notable Persons / Forum Traditions Deletion Undos

I undid some of the changes that were done on the Runetotem:US page about Notable Players and Forum Traditions. The Runetotem Server and Forums have a celebrated history of regular activities, such as the tradition of /capping a post and blocking mailboxes with kodos. It's a regular occurrence that new members of Runetotem will ask about these traditions, so we'll forward them to the WoWWiki entry. This part of the entry is very much a celebrated part of Runetotem's culture. Let me know if you have any questions. :) -- User:WoWWiki-Sente

Thank you :)

For fixing the Ability rogue honoramongstthieves [Honor Among Thieves] page. It was missing, so I just made a quick stub (it was actually an edited copy/paste from Ability rogue cheatdeath [Cheat Death] ) with the most important notes I could remember to add. So the rough framework was more or less there, I'm just one of many clueless ones about the proper coding conventions. I'll try to remember the edits though, for future reference. :) AsheraKhad (talk) 00:56, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

“Read up on what the Utility parameter is for.”

Why don’t you explain it to me? I read Utility before and don’t think that Penance is a utility. It's a combination of direct damage and healing, or offensive and defensive. Compared to Spell nature starfall [Arcane Missiles] and Spell holy searinglight [Holy Shock], I really don’t see your point.--Iggey (talk) 14:16, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Worg-Fang Talisman

Thanks for finding that image for me - I could not find the bloody thing anywhere! I was on checking out some early Northrend quests and decided to fill in a bunch of quest reward items... Cheers! Dongyrn (talk) 18:48, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Stop Using Datamined Information

I find it ironic that somebody who undoes my edit confirming Algalon as a boss in Ulduar with an official citation from the Lead World Designer then subsquently confirms the boss later using DATAMINED icons. EXTRACTING ICONS FROM AN MPQ IS Datamining. MPQ Viewers are datamining tools. Not trying to be too harsh, I just find it strange that an adminstrator who is generally pretty strict and keeps things in check allows datamining to go on in Ulduar boss pages. Dcemuser (talk) 19:43, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Funny, I haven't put any of such information on the boss pages. Additionally the things that I have allowed are images and tactics from the PTR. --g0urra[T҂C] 01:12, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Here's an example - "Auriaya" was a boss only confirmed by datamining (until yesterday). A user put in a request for a speedy deletion (justly) and you removed that request for a speedy deletion with the note "The icons can be seen by using an MPQ viewer. Not datamined." That is what I'm referring to. This happened to all of the unconfirmed Ulduar bosses. I'm dropping this issue though since its a completely moot point now that Blizzard has confirmed every boss besides Yogg-Saron and Algalon. -- Dcemuser (talk) 22:33, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Tier 8 Valorous Garb changes

I understand why you did some of the rewrite on some of the individual pieces - but why did you remove the cost section - that is directly from the PTR for the Vendor and the Token used to purchase the pice -- I used the (Exact) format from the Tier 7 page when I made the page - if the Tier 8 pieces are wrong then so are the Tier 7 pieces -- I coppied / pasted and changed it to match the Tier 8 information from the PTR server -- (<span="help title=Morph>M o r p h | <span="help title=Morph_Contribution(s)_to_this_Wiki>C | <span="help title=Morph_Discussion_Page>T) MorphgnomeMorphdraenei 14:52, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

I was originaly refering to the indiviual piece that had the == Source == section and then had NPC X selling the armor for Y token. I can add the changes the way you mentioned that is not a problem - but as I mentioned that is how the Tier 7 pieces were -- I just did a straight Copy / past to the Tier 8 pieces and only changed the information to match the PTR server -- the Tier 7 are done incorectly as well —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jrooksjr (talk · contr).

WC3UnitBox template

I noticed you've been to the Draenei Elite Assassin page and no doubt noticed the new unit template.

It's not perfectly coded. Could you take a look at it? (A list of issues are on the template's talk page.) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by PsiSeveredHead (talk · contr).

Spell nature resistnature [Improved Regrowth]

Is there a reason, why you removed the {{Elinks-talent}} from the article?--Iggey (talk) 14:39, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Talk first, edit after.

You could tell I was still editing. Talk to me before reverting part of my changes or I will consider it vandalism. In any case, I hate the itembox/reagentbox format, and will continue removing it as I edit pages. Show me that that format is actually required, and I will reconsider. If you prefer, I will be more universal in this change than just the engineering pages I have been editing. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:17, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

I use {{Itembox}} because it looks more clean. Or would you rather have quest rewards listed like the reagents, or boss loot? --g0urra[T҂C] 19:19, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Quest rewards in general I treat like I do reagents here (I remove reagent box from quest reward sections whenever I edit those pages too). Javascript rollover tooltips suffice to provide details, if one desires. I only use the boss loot style display on "series ending" quests and quest chain pages. I do not view itembox/reagentbox as cleaner. It is, however, only an opinion. I would, though, very much prefer not getting in an edit war over these issues, but this is an opinion I hold deeply. Are there modifications to my format which would be acceptable to you? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:28, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
I think that a large part of what I hate about reagentbox/itembox is the large icons that leave vast amounts of space empty. I'm also not a big fan of having the ingredients in two columns. There are a couple of other things I would like to see happen with it as well, but those are my largest objections. Would it help, if I were to dummy up an alternate proposal for itembox? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:36, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Um.. we cross-edited. But... Itembox as-is is a non-starter. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:37, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
I don't think you are seeing what I am seeing. Itembox, for me, generates an icon that is perhaps 3 times the height of the text. Item generates an icon that is precisely as high as the text. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:42, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Your point being...? You're trying to say that the icons are too big for you to read the text? --g0urra[T҂C]
As it seemed required, I added emphasis to the above. Does this answer your question? We are, after all, both talking about our own preferences. I am, in this, trying to compromise. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:48, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
I prefer the itembox link because of the background helps distinguish the list - I prefer the list in multi rows ( because I hate scrolling and wasting the space to the right ) but I can see Erik Ratcatcher's point on the Icon being bigger compared to the {{item|icon=|Item}} -- my suggestion as a mid-point is to add the |16px to the icon section in {{Itembox/Row}} so that it is the same size as {{item|icon=|Item}}. -- (<span="help title=Morph>M o r p h | <span="help title=Morph_Contribution(s)_to_this_Wiki>C | <span="help title=Morph_Discussion_Page>T) MorphgnomeMorphdraenei 19:57, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
The size of the icon cannot be sized manually. It goes through {{Icon}}. --g0urra[T҂C] 20:13, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
{{Icon}} is a wowwiki template, not a mediawiki built-in. More, it advertises that it allows different icon sizes. {{Item}} uses a smaller icon. This is not an insurmountable problem, though it currently exceeds my own skills. I have referred the question to Starlightblunder, who has edited the Itembox template most recently. If we have to tear down every template in line to make this work, I will press on to do it. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 20:29, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
TYVM for your changes to my sandbox pages. I was missing some subtlety or another that you've found. Couple more things I want to do with the prototype before I call it quits, though. (right-align of quantity value, zebra striping of rows) --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:08, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Wiki template markup has a lot of the feel I imagine Lisp has, though I've not actually written anything in that... Stupid brackets... need an editor mod to catch mismatches... --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:15, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Would you please examine and render your opinion of the prototype I created here (via the sandbox pages you assisted with)? It does not have the full set of parameters, so is not a direct replacement as-is, but does provide those changes that made it acceptable to me. The alt class shading is light for my taste, but is much better than leaving the box unstriped. And the height of the resulting box, at one column, is no taller than the current box at two columns.

In the mean time, I will get back to my screenshot transcribing, leaving the rewards section alone if possible. I make no promise about not relocating it, but I do not recall you objecting to either relocation, or adding XP/money/rep to it where such details were lacking. Engineering items, with one exception, largely have ingredients unstubbing to do. ... which is a detail still under dispute, so I will let it sit for now. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:31, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

In what way more flexible? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:44, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

In a separate thought of lessening the irritation, is there a project to replace {{lootbox}} with {{itembox}} on quest pages generally? If so, bot or by hand? For most quest pages, I prefer even your itembox to lootbox. (But not necessarily universally.) --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:55, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

What DID I say about editing while you knew I was online? And no, rewards go after completion. If you want to be pedantic about it, rewards are displayed in the UI in both locations. I recall no vote to move them to before Progress. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 20:27, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

I'd like you to confirm that we can post thing like :
"<NPC Name> might appear in the new Ulduar Raid as a flashback created by Yogg-saron, Voice files reveal his voice along with Ysera and Malygos when they created the Dragon Soul, wether or not Nozdormu and Alexstrasza will be there is unknown, but as all dragons was present at that time it's safe to assume they will. Warcraft relations map help

Hello,

you left a comment in my talk page related to help with my Warcraft relations map project

Wrm

Warcraft relations map

, I appreciate that, thank you! I haven't been working on it till today for a long time, but today I would like to make up something (workin' on it :)

I would need some help, that's true:

  1. I need some place to put it onto (project's own place) - any suggestions? (already placed)
  2. Delete the old snapshot (how?) (not important)
  3. Keep an eye on the project - to keep it truthful (corresponding to Warcraft history)
  4. Place some hyperlinks leading to it into relevant pages here on wowwiki

PS: please, how to make a hyperlink onto an image? I mean just hyperlink, NOT any thumbnail or image itself.. (already figured out)

Mistakes

Don't mark your edit as "Cleanup" when you leave mistakes at the same time. Click PREVIEW and check first.

Also, why are you making personal attacks just because you are having a dispute with another editor? I shouldn't have to point these things out to you.

--Raisky (talk) 02:03, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

To err is human. My friend the Preview button has sat alone in the dark for way to many of my own edits: these things happen even with the best of intentions. It helps that there are patrollers, and people with vested interests in particular pages. Like you, for instance. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 20:05, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

In the Name of the Light

In Quest:In the Name of the Light, you (among other things) removed newlines/breaks between {{item}}s in the sidebar. I'm a real fan of formatting that doesn't carry a link around a wordwrap wherever possible. Taking your edit as a global rule would seem to do just that. (But not on that page, on my screen.) Did someone manage to replace spaces with nbsp's in names, in the item template? Am I over-generalizing (IE it was the "or"s that got to you)? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:56, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Grizzly Hills-US Server Page

I've seen that you've been deleting the entire "Biography" section on Grizzly Hills-US Server Page ( http://www.wowwiki.com/Server:Grizzly_Hills_US ) I understand that you feel that this section is breaking a neutral point of view. I have been constantly trying to convince fellow players to maintain and preserve a neutral point of view when posting. However, I need your cooperation too. If you find that a post on our page breaks the NPOV, please delete that specific post, rather than the entire section.

An example:

""

Airgon

He's considered the village idiot bcuz every1 hatez him lololol!

Beckums

GM of Manifest Destiny

Eruanno

Recognized as the "Master of Pie"

""

If you believe that the biography of Airgon is breaking NPOV (Which it obviously is), please proceed to delete that specific post, instead of the whole section.

Thank you for listening (or reading), and I hope you can help our page.

Sincerely, --Felhearte (talk) 23:13, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

So if the biographies ARENT personal opinion, if they are a FACT, Will you keep them on the page? Example

Beckums GM of <Manifest Destiny>

It's NOT an opinion that he's the GM, its a fact. Instead of deleting the entire section of Biographies, please delete the specific opinions. Thanks.

The Book of Runes

Usually, you are not slow to correct me (regardless of my opinion on whether I need correcting). I am astounded that you have not yet commented or adjusted the quest progression section I put on The Book of Runes. On this issue, I do solicit your opinion. I am not greatly satisfied with the format, but have no immediate ideas how to improve it. Would you please examine the page and tell me what you think? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:07, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Okay. Now explain why the horde quest is not at all relevant to the alliance quest that covers the same ground. And please provide some alternative that will illustrate the issue of missing quests. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:41, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Your reply is only tangentially related to the issue. Yes, a disambig line for a specific quest is called for. However, my changes throughout are intended to facilitate a hypothetical The Book of Runes quest chain that would discuss both chains at the same time. I must disagree with your return to the status quo on this issue.
My request was not a "do you think this belongs", it was "how shall we format this so that it does belong". Please suggest a format that will work usefully on a quest chain page, and I will implement it throughout. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:52, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

The Warning

Hi, Gourra. Do you think is funny to work half an hour in an article just to get your changes reverted just without an explanation, then ask in the talk page without receiving and answer? I think not, the reason that I put the full transcript and some screenshots was to compesate the video, the video was "removed due to terms of use violation" by Youtube, the Wowwiki copyright policy say that: "There are only two ways that we can use ideas, text, and images from Blizzard's works:

  1. With Blizzard's clear permission."

If the video was removed obviously Blizzard doesn't give permisson of adding it to youtube and if Blizzard does't want it in youtube I think it doesn't want here either.

Also you may note that I changed the introduction as it had quoted things and the quote were incorrect and you even reverted that! Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 16:27, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Bashal'Aran quest

Sorry, but Quest:Bashal'Aran really does belong as Quest:Bashal'Aran. The fact that there is a note at the top announcing the quest chain, and the quest chain LIST at the bottom, is sufficient disambiguation. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 22:09, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

The first quest with the same name should end with "(1)", and the name of the quest (in this example "Bashal'aran") would be a redirect to the first one, or a disambiguation of the different types. --g0urra[T҂C] 22:33, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Not so historically, not so via the discussion on quest naming I recall, not so by policy and not so currently with other quests I have examined. Feel free to propose a change to policy. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 22:37, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

container objects

I'll add Category:World of Warcraft container objects to those various items, I guess, but as the vast majority of objects encountered in the game would qualify under that definition - and the category is easily confused with Category:World of Warcraft container items - I consider the category ill considered. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 20:39, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

If the other similar articles aren't with the category, then remove it. And if you can't see the difference between a container item and a container object, I'm not sure what to tell you. --g0urra[T҂C] 21:08, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Your use of that category appears correct, given the rest of the contents of the category. As for telling the difference between an 'item' and an 'object', I'm not who you should be telling. Explain it to the newbs. ... why I added a definition to the category. But yes, it DID take me a moment to realize what was going on. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:12, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

I wonder if you can move image pages. I suspect you managed too, but, perhaps, I'm wrong. If you can, it would be nice to have, for example, all the comic covers under the same naming-style.--Lon-ami (talk) 17:58, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Quest:The Collector

Question: Why use {{loot}} when you could use {{item}}, in the tooltip? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:52, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I'm serious in my asking. I'd been under the impression that {{item}} was the preferred template because it gained quality info from the source page. That is, less change required if quality is changed, at the cost of more DB hits. On that basis, I replace loot with item when I'm editing other things, but it's not something that I stop everything to edit out. If you've a particular reason for using it, I don't want to frivolously "correct" you. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 20:08, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Case in point: Quest:Eliminate the Competition If the two are equivalent, why do YOU care enough to change them back to using {{loot}}? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 20:16, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

It is NOT in the Patchnotes that was released in the game (only in the WEB patch notes)

Read your Patch.txt file again -- that is what I just went by - Only patch notes mean nothing - they get erased or put so far down the list you cant ever find them - I made the txt match the notes that EVERYONE gets when the do the update- and put the web notes in the Undocumented - because of reason stated at beginning. -- (<span="help title=Morph>M o r p h | <span="help title=Morph_Contribution(s)_to_this_Wiki>C | <span="help title=Morph_Discussion_Page>T) MorphgnomeMorphdraenei 16:28, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

May as well leave it on the Documented changes page because there are only 2 changes that were listed on the Undocumented changes page, both are listed in the on the documented changes, so I marked the Undocumented changes pages with {{sd|<The information listed here is also on the Documented changes - so this page is not needed>}} tag -- (<span="help title=Morph>M o r p h | <span="help title=Morph_Contribution(s)_to_this_Wiki>C | <span="help title=Morph_Discussion_Page>T) MorphgnomeMorphdraenei 16:51, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Achivements

Please stop undoing the amendments to pages listing the achievement gains - they are gains to quests, like reputation and gold rewards are. Also, Level 70s DO NOT get cash, not only that, Level 80s don't appear to get extra cash again. Undoing changes removing such leaves incorrect information on the relevant pages. sanderdolphin 18:30, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

I thought it was pretty obvious that a quest in the Blade's Edge Mountains quests category count toward the Blade's Edge Mountains quests achievement, but I guess not. Same goes for the "3000 Quests" achievement. Both are redundant, and not needed. If anything should be noted, it would be that a quest does not count toward an achievement. --g0urra[T҂C] 18:34, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
You don't know much about achievements then. Many don't give achievements to the zone listed, and others give achievements but are listed in other zones. Also, please don't split conversations between two pages, it makes it harder for people to read the context. sanderdolphin 18:58, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Minor correction, atually no later source books actually said that.Baggins (talk) 17:41, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Been discussed that the first rank is linked.

Hardly, for talents at least. The only consensus was for spells, {{elinks-spell/ranks}} in particular, which is not what I was using.

The last word on talents was "Yes, you should use {{elinks-talent}}, if it works for you. The important thing is to start getting external links added for at least the Rank 1 version of a spell or talent. Currently, most of them don't have this." and no one disagreed with that. So I think either template is fine. -Howbizr (talk) 18:17, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

I saw that, but PCJ doesn't equal consensus. Like I said, Fandy's comment was the last comment by an admin specifically about talents and not spells. I can only assume since comments died off, it's because they had no disagreement, so that was the consensus (that either is fine).
Start up the thread again or raise a vote if you think I'm mistaken in my assumptions. -Howbizr (talk) 18:48, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
I have a question then! Why have {{Elinks-talent|<11095>|<12872>|<12873>}} if you are only going to list the 1st rank with {{Elinks-spell|<11095>}}? If there are multiple levels then they should be listed for convenience ( it does not hurt or take up that much space - it fills the space in better in my opinion ) -- and as -Howbizr mentioned at least they will have an External Link either way -- (<span="help title=Morph>M o r p h | <span="help title=Morph_Contribution(s)_to_this_Wiki>C | <span="help title=Morph_Discussion_Page>T) MorphgnomeMorphdraenei 22:01, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Why does it matter that much to you to link every single rank? They are already in "See also" or "Related" links on the spell's page on Wowhead, Thottbot or Allakhazam. The only difference it would make to link every rank is that there would be a change, but that is redundant as the amount of ranks and what changers there are between the ranks are already described on the talent's or ability's article. That's why there's a rank table.
In short: use {{Elinks-spell}}. It's much cleaner and takes up much less space. --g0urra[T҂C] 22:06, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Your reply explanation is a sufficient answer, but you asked me why link them all - my reply is again " The convience " - why would I find a spell here - then go to Wowhead, Thottbot, or any other site to find out there are more ranks to the spell / talent - They are NOT always listed as a See also section and agaim in my opinion - it fills out the External links section without clutter and makes it easier to go to the other ranks ( that I might not have known about before ) -- But again your answer is a suficient answer as to why use {{Elinks-spell|<11095>}} over {{Elinks-talent|<11095>|<12872>|<12873>}} -- (<span="help title=Morph>M o r p h | <span="help title=Morph_Contribution(s)_to_this_Wiki>C | <span="help title=Morph_Discussion_Page>T) MorphgnomeMorphdraenei

Cross language

I've already changed and done everthing...

Look here:

  • Template:Battlegroup EU/ES Cruelty/Crueldad
  • Battlegroup EU/ES Cruelty/Crueldad
  • Template:Battlegroup FR/DE Embuscade/Hinterhalt

For the EU/ES and FR/DE, I think we should let it, because "EU" refers mostly to EN realms.

  • FR battlegroups are named "<name> FR"
  • DE battlegroups are named "<name> DE"
  • ES battlegroups was named "<name> ES"
  • RU battlegroups are named "<name> RU"
  • CH battlegroups are named "<name> CH"
  • EU cross-language battlegroups are named "<name> EU"

I've found some Server articles using the infobox server template, which responds badly to the "EU" -> "EN" change.

IconSmall Hamuul Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 13:56, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Edit: Finish. 4 Servers are using the infobox server template:
Server:Azjol-Nerub Europe, Server:Bloodscalp Europe and Server:Doomhammer Europe from Battlegroup EN Blackout
Server:Moonglade Europe from Battlegroup EN Reckoning
But redirection from EU to EN seems to solve everything.

Refgame template

Hi Gourra. I have noticed that you deleted[2] the {{Ref game}} template from the bonechewer article, but why? Or do we just keep the template as adornment? Activities at 70

You killed it, you cook it. Keeping the "70" page is useful: 1) for historical purposes, or 2) to people who do not have the WotLK expansion. The second is a sorely limited group. My take on the page was specifically "activities at the level cap". --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:03, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Spider (mob)

Just so ya know, that does push one of my buttons: removing stuff from a page indicating it should go elsewhere ... without actually fixing the 'elsewhere'. Personally, I think "Spider (critter)" is more what you had in mind. "Spider (mob)" is entirely too synonymous to me with Spider. (I'm assuming that you take the latter to be a lore or disambiguation page.) --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:30, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Shattered Hand

I figured out that the The Shattered Hand was in fact the Shattered Hand clan who took part in Thrall's Horde.

But the first article tells things already (and in a better way) said in the seconde one.

It tagged it for merge, but does it really requires a debate ? Isn't Speedydelete better ?

Another question about the citations

Hi Gourra. I saw that you deleted most of the {{Ref rpg}} template information in this edit: [3] in the red dagonflight article. Can you tell me why? I don't understand why we have this template if it isn't going to be used. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 23:00, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

I have been wondering about the removal as well ({{Ref game}} too), but it seems I was beat to it. It was once called a "wall of text"[4], so that may be the reason. The citations are being replaced with a "<ref>Source, page #</ref>" format. I do not know if this is a final solution or not. {{Cite}} needed to go, but why the others? I disagree with it.--SWM2448 23:19, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
I also disagree. It makes it look more professional and the authors are also credited for their work. Besides the templates are already made and people had taken their time to fill the blanks. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 17:59, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

RP (fanfiction)

I saw on your main page that you hate ppl who write up their own detailed expansions and fanfic. What's wrong with that? I think you meddle to much in people's edits, as if you dominated WoWWiki somehow. --User:ShandrisForever 12:32, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Describing adepts

Why describe adepts? Perhaps because it is a descriptive noun that is not in common English usage? ... and which is not actually described by pointing at mob pages and yowling "there be examples"? While I disagree with Rolandius' method of describing what an adept is (a reference to Wikipedia might have been more appropriate than ones to D&D sources), I don't find such a definition categorically out of place on a lore page. I note that since then, the page has been rewritten. I have to wonder if Rolandius' efforts might have been influential in "sooner rather than later" on that. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:06, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Gourra, why are you protecting Dreamskull's page? It's nothing but a self-righteous troll rant that has misleading and fictional information. One that shouldn't be on a website as cool as Wowwiki.com. The whole thing is nothing but lies, idiocy, and his failing attempts at being something that he is not.

Simply put, his page is vandalism in and of itself. It's nothing but lies and fiction he posted to make himself feel good.

Trash like that doesn't belong on wowwiki.

How many times in your life, both online and off, have you gone to someone with a problem and been left scratching your head going wtf when they claim it's dealt with, but really it isn't. Though, I can name a few people who feel the same way as I do about Dreamskull, I'm just the first to take action so to speak. -- —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Omglolwut (talk · contr).

The fuss is, as always, that his lies and sewage-spew stories are nothing but hinderances, if you actually knew him you would agree. Dreamskull is the kind of guy who makes up anything to get attention, his page included, lies shouldn't be on wowwiki. Even if it's just a user page, it's still idiotic and demeans the whole site. <Race> (playable)

Since we splited all playable race articles from the main race articles to split Lore and Game mechanics, the Infobox used for all <Race> (playable) don't fit much a basic game description.

I've ended up creating this new template Infobox Playable. It resumes the main points of the playable race in-game (name, race crest, faction, its classes (wow), its two languages, starting zone, racial capital, racial leader, racial mount).

All races are listed here: User:A'noob/Draft.

The goal is to have something completelty (or mostly) splited from Lore.

If you can think of anything else let me know, and tell me if you think I can set it on the playable race articles.

The tag appears on the Blacksmithing page itself when I drop in the ajax format to make the embedded tables collapsible -- as they are on the other profession pages, such as Enchanting -- but which did not appear on the original non-collapsible embedded format.

The other profession recipe lists (such as Enchantment/Tables/Apprentice do not have this tag, which appears useful. Is there a way to keep it from displaying in the collapsible versions of the tables? Is it still needed, and can it be safely deleted? If so, does there need to be discussion before it can be deleted? Joeartguy (talk) 15:20, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

What else but Rolandius?

The Wiki shows his contributions have been limited to his talk page for the last several days. I notice you went out of your way to block him from his own talk page, and then again from email. I see nothing on his talk page that would be worthy of being blocked from it, so I can only assume that your issue was specifically the email. Unless you can provide a specific complaint against his recent additions to his own talk page, would you return that permission? You will note that his comment about the Owlbear image was acted on (and so presumed correct). His Race vs Mob question deserves consideration as well. Action? I don't know. But certainly consideration. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:37, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Arena enchants

There are a number of arena Enchantment items (ala scroll of enchant X). I noticed you'd edited one, and thought it useful to ask you: should they also be placed under the appropriate enchantment category, or (better, IMO) under Category:Augments? Thought you'd be more familiar with the items, have a better handle on where they should go. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 17:47, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Spelling

How come the Ghostlands book says "In the ruins of the Ghostlands..." for instance but you keep turning it into "...in Ghostlands..."? Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 16:52, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Difference

What is the difference between these two articles I made, Stromgarde Defenders and Stromgarde Snipers Company, and these other two, Stormwind City Guard and Stormwind Guard? The two I made you moved and these other two stay? Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 04:19, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Warcraft III units

More than one user has complained about the dead links that fill {{Warcraft III units}}. I'm not holding you to anything, but what's the status on it? Do you have any information that would help fix/finish this? It would be nice.--SWM2448 01:08, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Organizations

Hi, I call on you to stop Rolandius from removing content from Organization without following any disscussion on the talk page.

Your mediation is required.

Gourra, why are you putting races and single mobs back as organizations? Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 10:47, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Achievement:Charger

Do we have a new namespace like Quest:<quest name>, Guild:<guild name + Server info>, etc ... I thought that one should have been named Ability mount charger [Charger]. -- (M o r p hJames E. Rooks, Jr. aka: Morph

Just FYI... Actual namespaces cause more disruption to the wiki than pseudo namespaces]. Currently we have distinct namespaces for: Guild, User, Server, Forum, and Portal. Quest and Achievement would then be pseudo namespaces. For a list, you can just bring up the wowwiki search page. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:54, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Somewhere in the /dev space, or village pump archives, or both, is the original discussion about achievement namespace. I don't remember why, but I was told that achievement articles were not going to have a namespace (psuedo or otherwise). /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 1:31 PM, 7 Aug 2009 (EDT)
Correct, back before Wrath came out I had asked about that before we started adding the achievements into the game (when we were 1st setting up the achievement pages) and Kirkburn had stated he did not see a reason to do so at the time, so we did not do so, but the other day Gourra had just added Achievement:Charger - so I had asked on that day and then later noticed we also had Achievement:Explore Darkshore as well as Achievement:Explore Elwynn Forest. Since then Eirik Ratcatcher has moved them to the proper naming techniques Ability mount charger [Charger] etc ... . -- (M o r p hJames E. Rooks, Jr. aka: Morph

Minor edits

Just FYI, I think you have "minor" auto checked accidentally. You're doing some pretty heavy boilerplating and they're being marked as minor with no comment. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 11:13 AM, 7 Aug 2009 (EDT)
