Unable to stop experience gains Edit
To the detriment of this page the fact that free trial players CANNOT halt their level cap has been completely missed. I myself have witnessed this after gathering the gold via farming level 12-13 mobs for 25 coppers each for about a week. Here is the official list of limitations from Blizzard.
The following restrictions are placed on all Starter Edition Accounts:
- A level cap of 20. - A maximum of 10 gold. - Trade skills are capped at 100 ranks. - Unable to trade via the Auction House, mailbox, or player-to-player. - In-game access to public chat channels unavailable. Players are limited to communicating using only say, party, or whisper. - Characters will be unable to create or join guilds. - Characters are not able to send whispers to other characters unless they have been added to the characters' friends' lists or have received a whisper from a character first. - Characters will not be able to invite other players into a party. - Characters will be unable to disable experience gains. - Voice chat disabled on Starter Edition accounts. - Realms experiencing login queues will prioritize players who have full, paid accounts. - Starter Edition accounts are not eligible for character transfers - RealID features are disabled on all Starter Edition Accounts.
I am therefore instituting this change in order to save others from wasting time as I have.
Are maxed out free trial players made to play with normal players playing the 20-24 bracket range or are they made to play with players who artificially halted their leveling for said range?
The difference is that with the first one a free trial player will be faced off against players 1-4 levels higher than him or her, but this is an acceptable tradeoff because these players are unlikely to be thoroughly equipped because they arent twinks - the real twinks are seperated into groups of players with exp turned off.
If it is the second one then it is even worse because then trial players are faced off against lvl 24's that have invested in their gear, especially heirloom weapons. This means that no matter what a lvl 20 free trial player does he will easily be outclassed. With the former it will be easy enough to outfit a character to takedown lvl 24's who are just playing around for exp.
Does anyone know?
Answer to the Question concerning lvl 20 BG arrangement:
According to Icedragon, a level 85 Night Elf Druid, the latter appears to be the case.
"Blizzard has stated repeatedly that nothing matters below the level cap. The game is balanced at 85, not 24. Not to mention that since you're on a trial account, at level 20 your exp is capped and you're put into the exp capped battlegrounds...home to almost exclusively twinks that fight one another."
