Uldum Concept Map

UldumZone

Figured I would start what we did with the WotLK concept maps and clean up the images we have to know what the zone will end up being like. Of course the concept maps are not 100% what the zone will look like in the end but they usually are pretty accurate. Least it seems there are much clearer images available for many of the zones this time so it makes this much easier. Some areas I could get close to figuring out what it was but wasn't totally sure. I believe the yellow squres on the black mountain type areas say Obelisk and the yellow sand areas seem like they say Dunes.

Thanks, I was eager to read the writtings on the maps

The pyramids in the south-west portion appear to be the instance areas, if the text on the map is to believe. Also, the far west yellow patch is Wind-Swept Dunes; the other two appear to start with a C. The parts on the darker areas do in fact say Obelisk, and there's a third Obelisk in the south by the water. --Scieran (talk) 07:24, January 4, 2010 (UTC)

Cat people

Hey, we get cat people now...I wonder if this is at all related to any cat people we have seen before... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gadgetfingers (talk · contr).

I completely doubt it, seeing as how what we've seen so far isn't a race but a sort of hybrid form thing. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 16:13, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
You mean the tigon? Those were related to troll voodoo magic. They didn't have anything to do with the Titans. I, like Dark T, very much doubt these 'cat people' will be the same as we've encountered before.IconSmall BloodElf MaleAMBER(RΘCK) 20:31, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
Although for the first time it could give us a link between Trolls and the Titans, a link that has been conspiuously missing untill now. Still, i doubt it too, seeing as the Tigons are just one of many aspects Trolls can take on. Still, a Tigon origin, with origins in a cat race in Uldum.....with origins in the Titans, would mean that everyone fits nicely into a slot.

gadget (talk) 08:15, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Trolls, Titans and Tigon all linked together in one zone. Hmm, yeah. You know, that might just be a little too complicated of a story for Blizzard to tell. I mean, there have been weirder things in lore but this simply gets...confusing.IconSmall BloodElf MaleAMBER(RΘCK) 19:38, September 1, 2009 (UTC)

That these fellows are made of stone turns what was formerlly an idal speculation into something of a conviction. Stone things always seem to become skin things as a general rule. We have yet to encounter a race that has absolutly no flesh form to corespond to its stone one. Thus this may actually prove right. In any case i shall be interested to see what they do with this new race. gadget (talk) 23:22, September 1, 2009 (UTC)

Serpent-like creature escaped.

Is it at all possible that it was not a serpent, but actually one of the tentacles of another Old God? In my own opinion, I doubt that Blizzard would add another Old God so soon, especially with Deathwing being the main antagonist, but is it possible that there is an Old God imprisoned within Uldum? I remember reading somewhere on WowWiki that it an Old God might have been imprisoned deep down inside the ruins. If no one gets a bell rung in their head, let me know and I'll search for it. jclipps (talk) 03:47, September 10, 2009 (UTC)

What do we know about it? It seems there was some creature imprisoned there, most likely by the titans, since they built the facility. The creature there seems to be having escaped a long time ago, since there are no other traces of it besides the pictures in Uldum's outer region and the hole in it's door. The markings depict it as serpent-like. Since Northrend we know that ancient titan facilities could be used to imprison Old Gods - a major enemy of the titans when they still were on Azeroth. And what do we have else? A yet unclear number of unidentified Old Gods and a serpent-like creature who's clear identity yet is still a mystery - Hakkar the Soulflayer. All we know is that he and the Hakkari claim that he is a god. Speculations are already out there saying he is in fact an Old God, so what if one of Uldum's purposes was being the prison of Hakkar, that got shattered in the Great Sundering, releasing him to found the troll bloodgod cult in the aftermath of the War of the Ancients? Superweapon

With all this Brann and Harrison Jones stuff in the past expansion, and a rumors of an ancient superweapon hidden somewhere in an Egyptian-style Uldum, did anyone here see a possible reference to the Ark of the Covenant and the Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark movie?Orisai (talk) 16:51, March 15, 2010 (UTC)

Or Stargate. Archeology, pyramids, superweapon, titanic creators.

Seven Bosses

I believe the information in this blue post should be added to the article somewhere. Seven Bosses ¥ Super Novice Talk 2 Me ¥ 17:22, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

There are seven red dots on the concept map, so this is not new info. It is confirmation...--SWM2448 17:25, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

Clash of the Titans

I watched the new movie Clash of the Titans yesterday and I got really inspired, loved the movie! What if Blizzard got inspired too? I am fantasizing about 2 new Uldum bosses, particulary one giant scorpion made of Saronite and black magic; call "it" Qad Shy'Ourrah, Terror of the Dunes or Ancient Horror of the Sands. My favorite character though were the Djinns! I hope they make one of the bosses a cool djinn with blue magic ;) Name: Xargadmion, Grand Vizier of the Timeless Ones. Thoughts? --User:ShandrisForever 09:17, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

How does a discussion that boils down to "I think Uldum should be like Clash of the Titans" benefit anything?--SWM2448 21:45, April 20, 2010 (UTC)
I'm just saying it was good it wasn't a lady kraken. TherasTaneel (talk) 22:33, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

Wait....

why do you have the thing on the side that lists the dungeons within a dungeon hub in here...uldum is not the dungeon...the dungeons are in the zone so unless you wanna put that up there for all the zones that have instances in them i suggest you remove it... Almasa (talk) 07:20, April 21, 2010 (UTC)

There is nothing to remove, it is like all other instances, the name of the Structure if all dungeons are grouped (ICC) or the name of the zone if they are in different structure (Zul'Drak)
IconSmall Hamuul Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 07:36, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
what about isle of quel'danis?that does not have it on there and its listed as the hub...Almasa (talk) 08:03, April 21, 2010 (UTC)

Alright to open?

Since the main entrance is open, intentional or not, isn't it fine then to add things from the zone? Since you don't need any exploits to get there anymore. --g0urra[T҂C] 10:23, August 7, 2010 (UTC)

Hopefully Blizzard won't have any hard feelings about that :) Matix22 (talk) 20:12, August 7, 2010 (UTC)
