Random crap Edit

Well, so we'll have Orlando Bloom for Kael'Thas, Jean-Claude Van Damme for Arthas, Chuck Norris for Saurfang, Ian McKellen as Medivh and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Illidan ROFL--Kirochi 13:02, 30 August 2006 (EDT)
(I was kidding) Great format BTW ^^--Kirochi 13:10, 30 August 2006 (EDT)
I heavily disagree with McKellen as Medivh. How's this for a format:
Chuck Norris for Saurfang FTW.--SWM2448 00:17, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Chuck Norris for everybody. Including the wimminz. --Super Bhaal 01:37, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Suggested Actor (full name, including titles, if applicable)Edit

How about Vladimir Kulich as Arthas? --Primmo1 14:30, 30 August 2006

Hmmm ... Maybe too old, but he damn looks like a Death Knight xD--Kirochi 16:05, 30 August 2006 (EDT)
He also scaryly resembles least he did in 13th warrior (or what the movies name was...can't remember) But seriously...I#d rather like to see some quite unknown be frank, so far the list reads like a shoping-list of fanboyism ;)--Maibe 17:48, 5 September 2006 (EDT)

Reasons WhyEdit

Reasons Why NotEdit

This isn't nubbing N'Nanz's proposition, but it would give a certain order. Alphabetical, obviously, and more than one actor per role. --Ragestorm 13:10, 30 August 2006 (EDT)

Catherine Zeta-Jones (Lady Katrana Prestor)Edit

Reasons WhyEdit

People, just imagine Velma from CHICAGO saying this: Oh, my flight is pure evil...and we LOVE it.

Reasons Why NotEdit

Sonny Chiba (Chen Stormstout)Edit

Reasons WhyEdit

He has a Chen look to him and could make a good cameo.

Reasons Why NotEdit

Maybe a bit to old to be jumping around as a drunken martial artist.

the whole Warcraft universe in a movie?Edit

I think it's impossible. What about adding a content where we can write ideas for the coolest plot or chapter for a movie? Naturally the movie will be about an excerpt of Warcraft history only. In my opinion the best idea is centering the movie about a not-human race, orcs for example. The movie should narrate about Thrall and how he found the New Horde. Have you ever seen a movie (except for "Star Wars" and "Star Trek") centered on an not-human character? What do you think about this? N'Nanz 09:04, 5 September 2006

That could be done, I suppose, but that would have to be on another page. Though, that film about Thrall doesn't need to be suggested- Christie Golden's already written it- but I could be adapted. A new page for plot might not go remiss, but is must be separate from this one. --Ragestorm 13:44, 5 September 2006 (EDT)

Let's have it, then. I had also the idea of Thrall having visions not only of Medivh (Just as in "Warcraft III - Reign of Chaos"), but of other happenings regarding orcish history too. I was thinking about the corruption of the orcs by Mannoroth, the opening of the Dark Portal, the murdering of his father, the destruction of Stormwind and other ones. The whole movie can be made of visions, and vision inside of other visions. That would be cool! --N'Nanz 18:25, 5 September 2006

Done. Linked from this page. --Ragestorm 17:27, 5 September 2006 (EDT)

Why actors? Why not computer graphics?Edit

I actually think the WarCraft universe would suit CGI better, but that's just me Saimdusan

You may be right, but: A) Blizzard doesn't trust anyone else to do CGI, and they don't have enough cinematic artists for a feature-length film; 2) even with an army of CG artists, a project like that takes a huge amunt of time; and Zed) it's more fun to guess which flesh-and-blood actors will appear.
That said, Blizzard could theoratically do a film CGIed in the style of WoW gaming, but that's what six million people see all the time. --Ragestorm 14:28, 4 November 2006 (EST)
Not in the style of WoW, in the style of WoW and Wc3 cinematics. That would rule Saimdusan 04:09, 25 November 2006 (EST)
I repeat, not enough artists or time. In fact, it's addressed in Art of Warcraft:
Blizzard has often discussed the possibility of chaneneling their cinematic talents toward an actual feature length film- it's definetly something they're interested from a creative standpoint, but a more likely approach would be for them to develop a live action movie. Digital animation involves a huge amount of work- the process of making sure each individual frame is perfect is quite daunting. Although always in the backs of their minds, the concept of taking on this enormous challenge is, not unlike the image of Mannoroth on this page, a bit frightening.
FYI, the image of Mannoroth on the page is rather intimidating.--Ragestorm 10:13, 25 November 2006 (EST)

Sean ConneryEdit

In addition to him choosing not to act, he turned roles in The Matrix and The Lord of the Rings down, saying he "didn't understand the roles". I know this was a silly article, but I felt I needed to say this. --Super Bhaal 12:51, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Thrall and GromEdit

I think The Rock as Thrall and Vin Diesel as Hellscream would be a winning combination. Thoughts? --Julzwinfield 9:14, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

yea they fit in perfectly to those roles, like Vin diesel as Hellscream and Dwayne Johnson as Thrall. Body size is perfect and both should be bold =) - Steineri

No offense to all you Warcraft merchandise lovers out there, but this movie's going to get blown out of the freakin water. I mean this movie would take millions, if not like a Billion dollars to make. I mean all the Dagons, getting the famous actors, and other special effects is what I mean. Blizz won't break even for months, if not years. Also, I can't see James Earl Jones as a 10ft. tall Cow Man, or the dude from Blood Diamond a 15ft tall blue skinned, tusked thing w/ a mohawk, I especially can't see Scarlett Johannsen as Sylvanas alive or undead.  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 17:00, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

This page is about the actors that will play the main actors in the next Warcraft Movie. They haven't been uncovered as of today, but you can propose here the ones you'd like to see in the main roles. Discussion will occur on the Talk page. This page is intended to be similar in idea to Rumored Races.
No, I couldn't see Scarlett being a dead elf either, but this is sort of wish fulfillment. It's where people go to state what favorite characters they'd like to see portrayed by their favorite actors.
Even if they were to make a movie I'm sure they'd stay the hell away from most "Hollywood Glam" people, and the types who tend only to cause drama off-stage and/or bitch incessantly about how horrible their role is or how underpaid they are or something. They'd similarly avoid other well-known people like Orlando Bloom or Liv Tyler, because they'd want people to see the movie for the movie and not some prettyboy actor or "OMG LIPS".
And of course it'd take a lot to make. The LotR trilogy was expected to cost somewhere under fifty million and it went past three billion. This is a well-established universe, and were a movie to ever be released of it it would not be some b horror flick like Xtro, a "here you go emo kids more stuff for you to like" like the Ninja Turtles movie, or even an indie film. It'd have a lot of time invested into it, because gamers ( next to comic book fans ) are nitpicky. -Super Bhaal 14:26, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Wow 3 billion for a bunch of actors to wear tunics and big feet... Well since they charge everyone 15$ a month, maybe they can do it, I'm just saying it'll bomb. The Rings series have like 50 something years on Warcraft. But who knows, you're defense sounds solid to me.  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 00:22, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

I want totally unfamous actors in this film. I don't want to see any of these known faces, it would confuse me. -- IconSmall NightElf FemaleShaera 17:39, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

u guys are right, we should pick actor from tv series instead on the big movies. Looking for faces who never saw the lights of the cinema it would be cool User:Manuelwow

Ellen Degeneres Edit

Viggo Mortensen Edit

Renee O'ConnorEdit

Can we get rid of the thing about her being so recognizable because of her old fantasy, because out of the few fantasy movie's I've watched, this broad ain't ringin' a bell. And she has the same birthday as me :)  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 23:09, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

yup that's what we wanted to know that u share the same birthday as her, but ur kinda right maybe she wouldn't like to participate because of typecast. User:Manuelwow

That's because she wasn't in any fantasy movie. She played Gabrielle in "Xena: Warrior Princess," which was a very popular show among both lesbians and adolescent boys.

Lady Prestor...again Edit

Something more reasonable than my postings before:

Natalie Dormer.

Why? She has the look for it and quite knows about the (particular) epoch due to her work in The Tudors.--Maibe (talk) 00:36, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, agree on the look - dark-haired, beautiful yet kinda mysterious, "intriguing" (ha ha) face, would look really evil with a villainous smile - but please stop suggesting people "because they were in medieval/fantasy movie/series XY". Apart from the fact that the Warcraft universe is not a standard fantasy or even a real medieval setting, I don't want to see lots of faces of other fantasy people on Warcraft characters. ~ IconSmall Druidŋɑϑ 18:58, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
I actually agree with you. I was pondering whether to put that in or not. But I think we can agree that due to that role and some others she has 'practice' in playing a scheming, conniving, malicious beauty...--Maibe (talk) 00:29, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Yes, it isn't a standard fantasy setting, but it would be good to have people who have done well in action/adventure movies as well as ones who have worked with prostetics before. The main thing is that they can act, play the type of character, and look the part somewhat.
Well, I'll admit this much; with what I have seen with pictures and footage of Lady Prestor, I'll admit that this actress would be almost perfect for the part (I say almost, because it is absolutly impossible to get anything perfect, including actors/actresses). Overall though, I would give the choice an 8/10.
Lord Halcyon (talk) 21:03, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Ramstein the Gorger Edit

Yeah i have a question why that character? I mean it doens't have any particular association to the lore yet he appears in the actor section i think it should be erased. User:Manuelwow

I kinda agree with you, but not because of the lore - does every character appearing in the movie need to have a major backstory? However, this character would probably not be live-action anyway, but mostly CG or a puppet (for closeups on body parts (ha ha) interacting with real actors) so all it needs is a voice. ~ IconSmall Druidŋɑϑ 14:57, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

why not wearing the voiecs in the game? much more easy, if it would appear the only thing it would serve was just to die merciless by the heroes. User:Manuelwow

Wear a voice... funny way to put it. However, Ramstein (like actually most NPCs) does not have that many voice samples in the game anyway. ~ IconSmall Druidŋɑϑ 15:09, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

yeah ur right wearing lol, using a voice, still the creature is kinda useless i mean orgrim doohammer would be much more useful and still no one put a actor to him. User:Manuelwow

oh hay there r prublemEdit

If Illidan and Furion are twins, are we going to have to get the same actor to play both, a la Lindsey Lohan in The Parent Trap (And isn't THAT a weird mental image...) or Paul Dano (the preacher guy) in There Will Be Blood? That could be...tricky. Chuck Norris could play them both, but Illidan has no beard and trying to shave Chuck Norris' beard could result in the entire project going under in a flurry of world-shattering roundhouse kicks. Here's hoping Blizz declares them to be fraternal twins. Bluemalkin (talk) 01:08, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

They are Fraternal twins, Malfurion is slightly taller, originally had silver eyes (now gold), and green hair. Illidan is slightly more muscular, origninally had gold eyes (now are just glowing holes covered my a cloth), and blue hair. But I think that since they never really fought hand to hand (or foot) Chuck Norris would be a terrible choice... I'd like to see them played by Brad Pitt and Ed Nortan.

  • Joking about the Chuck Norris thing, Mr. Anon. And I think if Pitt and Norton hadn't worked together before in such an iconic movie, that would be okay, but as-is, you'll get nothing but comparisons to Fight Club. Bluemalkin (talk) 00:16, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Tirion Fordring Edit

Anyone else thought of how much Jeremy Irons looks like Tirion Fordring? I think nobody could play Tirion Fordring better than Jeremy Irons... --The Lich KingPetitiongossipiconVendorgossipicon-Battlemastergossipicon 18:58, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Cairne Bloodhoof Edit

Suggested Actor (full name, including titles, if applicable)Edit

Keith David (The Arbiter, Halo series)

Reasons WhyEdit

Keith David is a great actor. His deep voice makes a great example for a Tauren, who are very muscular and have deep voices to begin with.

His acting skills as a "non-human" makes him ideal as a Tauren.

He's the Arbiter...

Reasons Why NotEdit

Keith David probably has enough publicity as the Arbiter...

Keith David's probably too busy to accept such a role (He is the Arbiter, after all)

He's the Arbiter...

This has a semi-plausibility, but since Keith David was the role for the Arbiter, it isn't very likely to happen...

Lord Halcyon (talk) 20:59, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Chuck NorrisEdit

I actually find the idea of CN as Saurfang very amusing, it would be a great running-joke to include Saurfang facts in the movie. Two orcs sit in Orgrimmar and Saurfang walks thropugh the gates, one orc says to the other:"Did you know...<random fact>" ^^ 19:33, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

I believe this page has promise, but needs to be cleaned up a little. I understand that it's a "silly" article, but it nevertheless lacks cohesion and has:
  • Bad grammar in places (e.g. "if blizzard would let to change character a little good").
  • Editorial notes in the main text (e.g. "i would cast Vin Diesel as an orc too").
  • Factual errors/unsupported assumptions (e.g. "Far too old (Aegwynn looks like under 30)").
  • Humorous additions which though funny should not be presented as supporting arguments (perhaps but them in gray italics under the main point?)(e.g. "Can you really see Deathwing talking about a watch he kept up his butt?").
  • Ridiculous suggestions (e.g. Cliff Richard as Antonidas).
  • Inappropriate language for T-rated wiki (e.g. "fat barrel of monkey sp*nk").
  • Opinions representing an individual's POV and not the community as a whole (e.g. "Will never, ever happen. Ever.").
It's not too far off, but some citations and generally well supported points would be nice. Also, consider modern filmmaking techniques when suggesting actors - for example, in the case of Akama CGI is most likely to be used; whilst blood elves will probably only have prosthetic makeup. ---- Battlegroup RoundIconVorbis AvailablequesticonTalk ActivequesticonContribs 17:31, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Personal Opinion Edit

When it came to hearing about the release of this film I was hooked on the idea. I have played the warcraft series since RoC hit the shelves and ever since then I have gotten hungry for more Blizzard titles. I have thought about a few actors that I think would really suit the roles well of the Warcraft Universe.

The Main actors I would suggest are -

Kevin Grevioux - He is perfect for the any of the Hordish major roles. He is not a bad actor in any way. However, the strongest reasons for the role are the voice and the his build. Both of which fit perfectly for Orcish, Tauren (possibly). Perfect for the Hordish roles.

Karl Urban - This actor is really very good when he puts in his all and I think with some good directing and some work he could definatly suit that of someone important and powerful such a Arthus. I would really like to see this actor be a part of the film. However, he had said that he didnt want to take on important roles but more comedy based which, may take him out of the runnings.

Ray Park - I find this actor very good at doing the more athletic parts of acting. I think he would be perfect for the role of a possible Undead, Blood elf, Night elf or even with a bit of work, troll!

This is a perfect line-up and I think this choice of actors would benefit to the overall performance of the Warcraft Universe and atmosphere

Where would Ozzy Osbourne fit pretty well Edit

well i was thinking maybe Ozzy Osbourne could fit in a role in the movie. Maybe one of the dark characters since he is the "Prince of Darkness". Either that or he could make a song for the movie( should have more than Tauren Chieftains) Also he was hired by the blizzard for the commenical so that means he must have an interest or something and blizz has taken an interest on him. I'd put him on the list myself but... i think someone else could do it better:)

Well for the most part he could fit in the role of a forsaken male most likely.... PUTRESS MAYBE!--Icon AzgalorMaelstrong 13:16, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Can't we find a place for Tim Curry? Edit

There just has to be SOME part he'd fit... Psu256 (talk) 01:22, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Keira Edit

Someone here really has bad Keira Knightley fetish, shes in every female character suggestion. Noobi666 (talk) 11:46, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Kel'thuzad's voice Edit

I just want to say that only his current, WotLK voice is dead and raspy. Before WotLK, his voice was awesomely logical, smart, and strong, and that's the one thing that basically separated him from other liches. He had a very cool, human voice before WotLK, and seeing as how the movie is set 1 year before WoW, he should still have his normal voice, so saying that it's a negative that an actor's voice isn't raspy enough for KT doesn't make senseZurkash1 (talk) 06:59, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Yeah. They could use synthesizers, or something. --Super Bhaal (talk) 02:21, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Rosamund Pike as Lady Jaina Proudmoore?

Vincent Cassel Edit Seriously, he is not on the list yet? --Taan (talk) 21:13, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

Seriously Edit

I came to this page because I wanted to see good suggestions. Instead I see that everyone is just suggesting actors from Lord of the Rings or other fantasy movies. You know, Ian McKellan probably doesn't want to do another freaking wizard, Karl Urban is probably bored of sword-wielding roles (Which is why he signed on to as many movies as possible after LotR, so he could avoid being type-casted), and Christopher Lee can do things other than play evil baddies like Saruman and Dracula.

More importantly, there are WAY too many suggestions that include "would look good in heavy make-up" as a "Pro". Just because an actor has been in good-looking make-up in the past doesn't mean it was good because of the actor. Make-Up appliances will work on ANYONE. That's the point of heavy make-up: to drastically change one's appearance.

I'm so glad that the majority of editors here aren't in charge of casting for this film. You are almost all just typecast enforcers. —This unsigned comment is by NaxxerDawk (talkcontribs) 15:20, April 26, 2010. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Non-Neutral point of view Edit

Many of the reasons are purely personal opinion or basically unsupported promotion. I've started doing some cleanup, but it needs alot of work on the whole. Hopefully it will be closer in quality to Race ideas someday. --Gengar orange 22x22Beware the sneaky smile! Fandyllic (talk · contr) 27 Apr 2011 4:22 PM Pacific

Varian Removal Edit

I removed the entry for the actor who is supposed to play Varian according to the IMDB. I was who interviewed him. I deleted the interview from Blizzplanet. I got over 500 emails from him throughout a year and a half. There are things he said I can't comment in public. I can only say one thing: He never was and never will be Varian in the film.
