This pvp page should have a section devoted to Battle Grounds, emphasising the importance of timely fearbombs. Also, survivability is a huge part of being a solid member of any group pvp situation and is not in this topic. Ubarjabula 00:53, 25 January 2007 (EST)

I did a huge rewrite on this page to expand it and make it tidier. I covered how to deal with each class, and when to use fear. Survivability in PvP for a Shadowpriest comes down to not using too much Mind Flay (because of the lazer streak) and doing lots of VE damage. Maybe I'll add that somewhere. It would also be nice if there was a good BG section somewhere on this site. Dabreeze87 11:51, 14 March 2007 (AST)
Under Cons it is listed as having no AOE, this is not strictly true. One could spec 11 points into holy for Holy Nova, of course this can't be used while in Shadowform. Not going to bother to change the page as I have never seen this done and its usefulness would be minimal. Eht 13:12, 25 April 2007 (EDT)
It looks like a lot of this information was written before the expansion. I added Vampiric Touch to the table. Not an instant dot but worth a mention given its importance to the priest class in general. Probably need to update the page with info on arenas, or at least point to an arena guide page. I edited and fixed up out dated parts of page. Main things include a few slang terms, and removed the following priest tips:
- Dispel Magic, Dispel Disease, etc. In PvP, it is useful to dispel DoTs on yourself that are magic or disease, but it only possible if you are not currently selecting any other player/pet (i.e., not in combat). To dispel magic (put whatever spell you wish to self-cast in place of Dispel Magic if you wish) from yourself, right-click the macro button. To dispel others as usual, left-click the button. The macro is:
/cast [button:2,target=player][exists] Dispel Magic because this has been made redundant with the ability to auto self-cast with a key bound modifier.
- If you have room, keep a rank 1 fear on your toolbar, or even replace the one you have. The reason? Rank 1 is no more likely to be resisted than any other rank, and uses way less mana. However, it only fears up to two targets, so keep a larger fear somewhere for the odd situation[/quote]
Because with recent changes casting lower ranks of spells cost the same amount as highest rank available.
And: If you have taken Spirit Tap as a talent, you should consider switching to Blackout for pure PvP, since +Spirit will only help you if you're not casting spells (i.e., not in PvP) or have already killed your opponent. Because this also allows regen while casting (very usefull with SW:D to get you killing blows) --DarkReviver (talk) 15:24, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
