This particular boss is not Akama. Videos from the PTR show Akama assisting you in your battle against Illidan. Voice files also point to him dying in the battle (at which point maybe Maeiv will show up). --Adonzo 12:02, 28 April 2007 (EDT)
- I have been proven wrong. When Illidan tells Akama that he know's who posseses his soul, he means business. Apparently this boss is the dark portion of Akama's soul, essentially "Dark Akama." When you kill the channelers, it is freed and you witness (and participate) in an epic battle between Akama and his dark side. --Adonzo 03:56, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
Strategy Expansion Edit
I have seen the videos on this fight and see how it goes and intend to do a strategy write up, but I haven't actually gotten to participate in this boss fight yet (we just keyed for BT last week and still need to finish some people's attunements since apparently doing your prereq quest before we start SSC/TK for the week was hard ><). Anyways should be able to do a write up here in a week or two.
In the meantime, if anyone else can post details on the Elementalists, Sprit Binders, Assassins (or whatever their actual name is), and the Defenders that run for Akama, Sorcerers that go for the Shade it'd be helpful.
- I updated the guide based on comments from a guild member with Akama experience, and it looks like someone has clarified it even more. All in all, it's looking to be both comprehensive, but still simple enough to quickly read, so I wouldn't be too worried.

Batox changes Edit
What happens if Good Akama dies? Edit
I read that the raid needs to kill Shade of Akama before he kills the good Akama. What happens if you fail and good Akama dies? Does Shade enrage and start 1-shotting tanks? Does the encounter reset like when Thrall dies in Hyjal? WoWWiki-Thoth (talk) 17:21, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
