Why not just put this on the Wintergrasp Mark of Honor page? Why make a separate page just because it's higher-level gear? -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:35, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

Because it would be included on the NPC quartermaster pages as well as the Mark page. Same as the Original Quartermaster page (link below). Still, they could both be templates instead of mainspace pages. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:43, April 29, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, why does it need to be included on both pages? It's such a long list, it should probably just be on the NPC page and leave it at that. --PcjWoWWiki admin (TDrop me a line!C58,926 contributions and counting) 00:09, April 30, 2010 (UTC)
I was under the impression that vendor inventories were appropriate on the particular NPC pages. If general opinion is "too long for the NPC page", then ... the inventories can be removed, or the inventory lists compacted, either one. But it's kind of hard to argue "too long" on the NPC page and not too long on the Mark page. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 00:20, April 30, 2010 (UTC)
It's not a template. It's to be used on two or three pages max. It should be on one NPC page and transcluded where necessary. --PcjWoWWiki admin (TDrop me a line!C58,926 contributions and counting) 00:22, April 30, 2010 (UTC)
I'm with pcj. --User:Gourra/Sig2 07:22, April 30, 2010 (UTC)
I'm confused... If the Stone Keeper Shard list should be a template (which you did yourself, Gourra), why should these WG mark inventory lists not also be templates?
Further, the Original WG mark list cannot exist as an "onlyinclude" section on either the NPC pages or the WG mark page, as it is only a portion of what is relevant to each of those pages. The high level list CAN be an onlyinclude section on the NPC page for now, but that raises consistency questions. Are you willing to live with the inconsistency? Or propose a consistent alternative?
Last, re Pcj's question about "why do we need the list on the NPC page", I went back and looked. The original WG QM pages had inventory lists on them. I've modified and expanded those lists. As I said earlier, I'm happy if the lists are shrunk/reformatted, I'm happy if folks want to remove the entire vendor list from the page. But we should be consistent and remove both sections of the vendor list (shards/marks) at the same time, if we remove 'em. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 17:52, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

Okay. Original vendor list moved to Template ala Stone Keeper's Shard items. For the moment, High Level list left under Marshal Magruder (though for consistency, it too should be in template space). --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:30, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

changes? Edit

Two comments:

1) The name of this (and Original Wintergrasp Quartermaster Mark of Honor vendor inventory) are exceptionally long. While the wiki software is able to handle this, it distorts any category the page finds itself in. I'm not attached to the name and would accept reasonable alternatives.

2) A corollary to the above is that these two pages could also be formed as templates. The original wintergrasp quartermasters sell both stone shard items and WG mark items; thus the Original page doesn't tell the whole story there. Similarly, there are now two quartermasters per faction selling Mark items, so neither page satisfies the Wintergrasp Mark of Honor page. While the pages could stand on their own, kinda, there's not a lot of reason for them to do so.

Suggestions? Or if you're feeling bold, changes? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:43, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

I almost commented earlier: Templates, definitely. In which case, I'd prolly rename to T:Original Wintergrasp MoH inventory. --Sky (t · c) 23:48, April 29, 2010 (UTC)
I created them as independent pages at first because I've had some of my templates rendered back to pages in the past. Perhaps this time I guessed wrong the other way? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:55, April 29, 2010 (UTC)
Waiting on Pcj and Gourra's opinions for a preferred organization before I change the names. Hate changing names repeatedly. Hate inconsistent systems, but will accede to their preferences. Asked their opinions, after all. Gourra's rename to Template:Stone Keeper's Shard items seems sound, though as a template, it shouldn't be in mainspace categories, really. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:03, April 30, 2010 (UTC)
Looks like Gourra was BOLD. In the same vein, then... --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:23, April 30, 2010 (UTC)
