How does this stack with buffs like Ironshield Potion? Is it (armor from items+2500)*125% or (armor from items)*125%+2500? Does it depend on the order the buffs are applied? Tifi

Likely to be after armor from items. So just a straight +2500 armor. Pzychotix (talk · contr) 03:44, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
I just tried it out earlier, and the % bonus is neither applied to the Ironshield buff nor MotW, so you're right. Not sure about Devotion, but it's probably the same. Tifi 01:43, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

The line about the buff applying to armor instead of damage reduction may seem to imply that it is less efficient when the target has greater amounts of armor ; however, according to the theorycrafting about armor and Surviviability, the efficiency of the buff in terms of added time to live would be the same whether you have 0 or 30000 armor. Another thing to note however is that since damage reduction is capped at 75% (35880 armor against level 73 mob), the buff starts losing its effectiveness when the target hits 28704 armor (because 28704*1.25 = 35880); This should only be a concern for high-end druid tanks, though.
