Old discussion Edit

That concept art is of a dragonhawk. You can download the alpha client and look at it in the model viewer if you want, or you can just go to one of the sites that has alpha pictures. It looks exactly like its art. --Kakwakas 04:45, 23 September 2006 (EDT)

I've just added a little bit on this. Apparenlty via screenshots by other players and confirmation via a blizzard employee to the current pets bug the Dragonhawk is a new Hunter pet found in Eversong Forest. --Dragonluter 23:54, 14 October 2006 (EDT)
Is this a good hunter pet? I kinda want one for my BE hunter—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Endlon (talkcontr).

I wish that they're was more low-level DragonHawks :(. -—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mrscribbles (talkcontr).

Uh WoW...Edit

Are there any dragonhawk mounts in-game (I think a BE in Hellfire rides one). Even if there's isn't, Wowhead has a Dragonhawk Mount (Black). You can check it out at [1] for proof.  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 01:57, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

There are dragonhawk mounts, yes, but they're currently for NPC use only (and this use is as mounts for NPCs was introduced in Patch 2.4). I wouldn't be surprised if they will become a flying mount option for players later, but we'll have to see. Presea 22:32, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Actually, players get to ride them in bombing runs as well. Not the black ones however. And yea, I'm sure they'll appear as buyable mounts much like the hippogryph did. User:Coobra/Sig3 22:42, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Dragonhawk/Hawkstrider Edit

are dragonhawks and hawkstriders somehow connected? Noobi666 (talk) 12:28, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

No. Hawkstriders probably are Arcane-influenced and specially bred Plainstrider descendants. Not lore - just reasonable given basic form.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jubaal (talkcontr).
Probably, but the hawkstriders (which came out of nowhere) seem to have been at least inspired by the more avian version of the dragonhawk.--SWM2448 02:21, October 17, 2010 (UTC)

Two types of creature? Edit

I am fairly certain that the Burning Crusade dragonhawk is meant to represent the same creature as the Warcraft dragonhawk. They share similar roles in Blood Elf culture, Warcraft dragonhawks are not otherwise present in WoW. They simply recieved an art redesign. Please cite a source that affirms that they are distinct creatures. Otherwise, I will edit this article accordingly.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jubaal (talkcontr).

They are likely the same. I doubt anything will say that they are different creatures. However, it is a pretty drastic redesign.--SWM2448 02:21, October 17, 2010 (UTC)
To me it seems the original dragonhawk was split into the dragonhawks we see now and hawkstriders. User:Coobra/Sig4 03:05, October 17, 2010 (UTC)
