That whole Warlock solo guide doesn't feel appropriate, but moving it to a separate page called 'Warlock Solo Guide to Darkwhisper Gorge' seems even worse. --Varghedin 18:03, 29 December 2006 (CET)

I think it isen't usefull at all! I just placed it here so we can think of a place for it...crappy article The Challenge thing is complete Junk as well IMHO --Pimmeh

Warlock Solo Guide[]

The gorge can be easily soloed by a tier 1 geared Warlock. Beginners should restrict themselves to farming the first two slayers at the entrance to the gorge before venturing further. Slayers can be easily killed by dotting, shadowbolting and chain fearing. Curse of shadows and - resist gear such as rune of perfection is highly reccommended. Initates are harder due to their tendency to stay out of reach of fear. Shadow ward and liberal use of death coil is important with them. Avoid killing the manastalkers due to their poor loot table.

The main risk here is a mob gaining adds while being feared. Banish the add and running out of combat is the best suggestion, unless the first mob is very low on health.

Likewise, with space, any class that can kite may be able to take on this area: for example, a frost spec'ed mage. All the mobs are suscepitble to being chilled/rooted, so may be kited to your hearts content. however, bear in mind that as you get further into the depths of the gorge, you will start to run out of space, and roots will become of paramount importance. As a mage, the mobs are of variable difficulty: - Slayer: Easy if you can kite around and avoid his very hard attacks. - Manastalker: Not too difficult, but eats your mana: you need to kite and have a source of mana avilable (e.g. mana gems) - Succubi: Very hard: due to the fact that they cast spells, you simply have to duke it out, as they have a long range. As a Mage, using the new 41 point frost talent Water Elemental, I can finish these off with no health loss - but they will weaken you considerably!

Despite the low drop rate of Spell shadow unholyfrenzy [The Eye of Shadow], solo grinding here can be very profitable, if you take advantage of Vi'el's cheap deals and have mining or herbalism. The advantage of having a vendor right on your grinding doorstep is a considerable one.

Kiters: here is a challenge! How long does it take you to kill these monsters (Slayers are ther easiest to kite) using rank 1 abilites only? How far can you kite them without them dying?

upcoming raid instance[]

You mean the instance portal leading into Hyjal? That has been there for a long time, discovered long ago. Eventually Hyjal was made an instance via the Caverns of Time, "present Hyjal" is still there, not developed, and unlikely to get finished.

Titans?[]

Just a thought, but the pillars that line the gorge are identical to the ones outside of Uldum, suggesting that they are infact titan ruins. Should this be added under a speculation section? Tweak the Whacked 04:15, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Changes[]

Just a note I made some changes to the article inculding a picture or the portal. Tehhairbuns (talk) 09:20, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

The Unused Instance[]

I can confirm that this "Unused Instance Portal" in the cave does indeed lead to Hyjal, I used Far Sight (Shaman Skill) many times on the gate of the cave until I got passed through and tried to explore around it and saw the World Tree, the skull of Archimonde and some burnt areas similar to Hyjal when I used Far Sight around, it is at least a part of Hyjal. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Potato kinG (talk · contr).

Well of course you'll get to Hyjal using Far Sight through the tunnel... spells/abilities don't enter instances. Come Cataclysm though, I'm sure the tunnel will be cleaned up and the portal removed since this gorge is becoming part of Hyjal. Sign your comments in the future please. Titans (again) ?[]

What is the connection between the huge pillars of darkwhisper with the identical pillars outside of uldum, the same pillars in the ruins of thaurissan and the (Again same) pillars south of uldaman?. The existence of pillars outside of uldum and uldaman indicate the existence of titan building complexes hence this raises question regarding the existence of said building complexes in darkwhisper and thaurissan. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arielia (talk · contr).
