A lot of the information in the strategy section of this page seem to be no longer accurate. (Basically, the last patch made it impossible to avoid being mind controlled by any spell or technique that I am aware of.) Is it OK to just remove the stuff that no longer applies and try to unify this down to one or two coherent strategies? Would that be stepping on the toes of the people who have contributed info so far? (I'm kinda new around here. :)) -Taritus (20 Feb 07, 14:50 PST)

Try signing your posts with ~~~~ (if you didn't do that :). And the point of a wiki is to fix the things that aren't accurate. If we disagreed with your changes, I'm fairly certain someone would have spoken up about it (and quite vocally! :)).Sky (t · c · w)
Ok, I'll take a stab at paring this down tonight if I remember. Thanks. Taritus 18:26, 20 February 2007 (EST)

Reference Edit

Isn't this boss his name a reference to something? I think it is, but I can't recall it...   Montronax  ( talk · contribs ) 05:06, 2 March 2007 (EST)

Rogues, take off some gear! Edit

I was having a hard time with this in a PUG. Namely I was slaughtering the clothies when I was mind controlled. So finally I took off a dagger (wasn't using poison already), and I took off my +Crit trinket. Things went a lot smoother after that. This is one fight that's not about DPS. You have to go all out on him when you can, but you have to make sure you're not doing the worst damage on your own party. Just take it easy. If you take some damage, run FAR away and bandage, then sprint back. The healer should focus on the tank. Even after our healer fell from one of his charges, we were able to keep going for some time by just pacing ourselves. --Iamdeadfish 16:31, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

Rogues: Garrote? Edit

Last time we fought Blackheart, I vanished and garroted Blackheart during the combat. He's not immune to garrote, and he did not appear to Incite Chaos until it had worn off. However, none of us were keeping particular count to be sure whether this was an illusion or an actual effect. Anyone else have any experience trying this? --cr0wgrrl 11:29, 08 July 2008 (PDT)

Reworked Strategy section. Edit

After looking over the strategy section during a run, I decided to spend some time editing it for conciseness. It had been edited and added to by a good number of people, and it showed. I pulled the standard positioning strategy notes into one section and notes and tips about Incite Chaos into another. I made sure to note with (Verified, patch 2.1.x) and (Verify) specific tips that I could or could not guarantee (Dreamless Sleep Potion, for example - some sources say it works, others say a patch changed it so it no longer works). I will try to get verification on these myself, but of course it is appreciated if someone else could update the page when/if they verify any of these. ArsVendetta 06:07, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Multiple Curses Edit

Multiple curses per warlock (One after each mind control) are verified and still possible as of 2.1.0. Stillfresh 22:42, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Mid-Battle Reset Bug Edit

After a lengthy battle in a heroic Shadow Labyrinth run with Blackheart, our group ticketed a GM about the boss's uncanny ability to outright reset his HP after a Mind Control. Our group brought him down to 1% and most likely killed him at the same time he MC'd us, and reset to 89%. Our damage meters reflected the game counted it as two separate fights with two separate timestamps.

According to the GM that responded to us, this IS a bug they're trying to fix, and it seems we weren't the only group that had to continuously run back from the graveyard at least three or four times before giving up outright.

The WOW forums have a lengthy history of people dealing with this more-than-annoying evade bug - perhaps someone could write up a little piece about that on this page?
