Current GuiseEdit

Can anyone reference the fact that she is, in fact, Pained? I've never heard this before, I'd like to know where you got your info.

Sign your posts, please. I have no idea where that came from (disturbing, since I usually watch these things like a hawk). Since Pained is associated with Jaina and is an elf, I guess it's logical to assume.--Ragestorm 21:40, 13 December 2006 (EST)

In the screenshot of Pained, it doesn't show an old elf. Now lets assume that Pained is Aegwynn. Shouldn't Aegwynn be white haired and old? It says in Warcraft: The Last Guardian Book 2, "Khadgar saw that she was much older now. Her blond hair was now white, and there were tight wrinkles around her eyes and mouth." This was back before Stormwind fell to the orcs. She may be a powerful mage, but now she is over a thousand years old and has given up her power to give to Medivh. She has almost died three times due to using what's left of her power. Shouldn't she be dead from old age or exhaustion?--User:Evilsniper 21:47, 12 March 2007

Actually, Aegwynn is under a thousand years old. Havine been kept in perfect health by magic, and maintaining a healhty lifestyle after the loss of said magic, she could easily keep going (hence, the constitution of an elf). I personally doubt the connection, considering that, while Aegwynn could easily be in perfect health and have anywhere between another decade or another century, she probably wouldn't be combat-ready as Pained is, unless she was shapeshifted into a young night elf by Jaina or the druids. Still, the speculation is valid.--Ragestorm (talk · contr) 08:10, 13 March 2007 (EDT)

Last I heard she's Tabetha in dustwallow marsh, seeing she lives in exile there and has control over magic. - Schoon

Aegwynn doesn't have as much magic as Tabetha does anymore. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 15:54, 17 March 2007 (EDT)
What makes you say that? god knows what happend in the time between the time she lost her magic and WoW, I have a harder time believing Pained = Aegwynn tbh - Schoon
It's only a year or so between CoH and WoW. Prior to the Zmodlor incident, she had essentially no magic. Maybe she did gain enough magic and is Tabetha, I don't know, but the point is that Pained is A) always with Jaina and B) has the constitution of an elf. That's more evidence than some random witch in Dustwallow. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 08:10, 12 April 2007 (EDT)
I disagree with your assessment Ragestorm. Tabetha makes much more sense to be Aegwynn than Pained does. Tabetha has more of the mannerism of Aegwynn than most realize, she still is somewhat secluded, she has her garden, and she understands demons and how to deal with them as seen by the quest that is given to Warlocks to clear a demonic presense from an item. Her location also lends herself to being able to advice Jaina while having a low profile. It's obvious from the quests and lore that Mages and Warlocks encounter involving Tabetha that she is/was quite powerful, which fits with Aegwynn. The other problem with going with Pained is Pained is way too obvious to play the role that Aegwynn is wishing to play. I see Pained more likely being assigned to Jaina after the battle of Mt Hyjal by either Malfurion or Tyrande to act as a guardian and ambassador to the Humans of Theramore. --Tahapenes 13:15, 12 April 2007 (EDT)
Now this is more like it. Personally, I don't think she in the game at all, guise or no, and your assessment of Pained is probably much closer to the truth. However, Tabetha is seen to work very powerful and complicated magic; the one thing that CoH is clear about is that she can no longer work magic directly, and has no more or less magic than any living being. Admittedly, it's theoretically possible that she could have somehow regained enough magic, but that's unlikely, considering it took her 25 years to buld up the magic to raise Medivh. Even with Jaina's aid, she probably wouldn't be as powerful as Tabetha.
If you want to add a paragraph on Tabetha, be my guest. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 13:46, 12 April 2007 (EDT)
Sorry for not being a man of words ^.^ I'm a thinker not a writer ;) - Schoon

I think I'll toss up the simple explanation that perhaps she isn't even in the game at all, as ragestorm mentioned. Also "pained" should not redirect to Aegwynn, :p... She should be on her own own NPC page, unless some source specifically says she is Aegwynn.Baggins 18:04, 13 April 2007 (EDT)

I agree.--Ragestorm (talk · contr) 14:53, 14 April 2007 (EDT)

I've always thought it might be that Archmage that hangs around her. Powerful mage. Involved in Theramoore's affairs. If she didnt want anyone recognizing her, a disguise as a unknown male archamge makes sense.Warthok 08:41, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Why would she disguise herself as a night elf warrior? That doesn't make sense at all. Tabetha seems more likely. --Xavius 09:59, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Given the evidence, as stated above, both are equally unlikely. How on Azeroth could she suddenly gain that much power in only a year? They're both mentioned in the article, and that's that. I think we can safely not mention Tervosh. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 16:05, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Image of AegwynnEdit

There is an official image of Aegwynn in Alliance Player's Guide, unfortunately its just a shot of her back as she fights the Avatar/Sargeras. But I'll upload the image later anyways.Baggins 15:03, 14 April 2007 (EDT)

500 years vs. MilleniumEdit

In the vs. Twisting Nether section it states that Aegwynn fought the demons "For 500 years following her becoming a Guardian" for "a millenium". Isn't a millenium a thousand years? Did she fight them for a 1000 years or 500?--Lijakaca 17:58, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

New discussions at the bottom of the page, please. Yes, that Is untrue. Thank you for your attentiveness. --19:13, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Image Edit

Why have the image of Aegwynn and Sargeras been removed? What was wrong with it? I think it's a good image depicting their battle.Dakovski 19:30, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

It was moved to Sargeras article, since the picture highlights him more than it does Aegwynn.Baggins 18:56, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Speaking of images, I think now is the time for a better picture for the article. I mean c'mon, it's a picture of her back. Warchiefthrall 01:15, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

It's always been the time for a better picture, but can you even find one that isn't fanart? --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 13:53, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Even fanart would be better than just her back side... User:Coobra/Sig3 20:33, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Completely agree with Coobra :) Warchiefthrall 01:03, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

We do NOT put fanart in the infobox. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 13:11, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
What about the cover of Issue 6 of the warcraft comics? --N'Nanz 13:24, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
I thought it was "we don't put fanart in the infobox if screenshots or official artwork existed. So long as its good quality fanart, with the caption saying that it is." User:Coobra/Sig3 15:39, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Maybe wait some time till Samwise puts it on Sons of the Storm so there are no text overlaying the image.Dakovski 13:46, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Mixup maybe?Edit

ATM I'm just about exhausted so I apologize in advance for my bad grammar. Anyway, it says Aegwynn is the chamberlain of Jaina in the new wow comic. Is she disguised as a common employee to Jaina? Is the name coincidence? Is it actually her? However her pic is on the cover of one of the comics so does that mean anything?  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 04:32, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes, it's actually her. I've not read it, so I don't know if she's using her real name, but they're not going to randomly make up a character to appear for a few pages and say she's assumed Aegwynn's name.--Ragestorm (talk · contr) 13:19, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

But wouldn't Jaina, and probably everyone in the Alliance be overjoyed the person who (sort of) killed Sargeras is alive? Unless of course she's disguised.  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 23:00, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Er... Read the relevent articles. Jaina knows. Has for a while. And I don't think the activities of Aegwynn or the Guardians are public knowledge. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 00:00, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

jonas? Edit

ok two things, on valeera's page she is now related to relftra, wheres the source, i bring this up due to the guardian thing and all, and two who the hell is jonas?--Whitedragon254 sigYou know im seriously 1337 now. {T1337 to the extreme.CThe dragon protects me...that and my MG 30 glock of course..) 04:48, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

He was another apprentice of Scavell, whom Aegwynn succeeded as Guardian of Tirisfal. Not sure why he'd be listed as a relative, though. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 05:37, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
Awgywnn had "even slept with him on several occasions." He's down there as a lover, but I don't think it's important enough. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 13:19, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
Where's that info from? It's not in the article. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 18:34, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
Cycle of Hatred, can't recall the exact page. The only other information WoWWiki has on him is over at Scavell--Ragestorm (talk · contr) 20:18, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
well what about relfthra being related to valeera? wheres the source?--Whitedragon254 sigYou know im seriously 1337 now. {T1337 to the extreme.CThe dragon protects me...that and my MG 30 glock of course..) 22:42, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
You got me on that one. Obviously it's somewhere in the comic. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 23:02, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
This may be a stretch but wouldnt that make Relfthra's last name Sanguniar as well? he hasnt mentioned a brother or sister ever and a descendant is usually one who came from your bloodline, starting from you to your child and onward. Like relfthra-his kid-that one's kid-etc-etc-etc-valeera eventually.--Whitedragon254 sigYou know im seriously 1337 now. {T1337 to the extreme.CThe dragon protects me...that and my MG 30 glock of course..) 23:21, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
I don't recall seeing that anywhere in the comics... I'd really like to get confirmation on that one. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:21, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
