Am I missing something? It doesn't actually appear to be possible to discover a target's buffs, as suggested on this page. I just get blanks.

It is only possible to discover target's buffs as long as you're supposed to know them: either (a) target is friendly or (b) target has detect magic on it. Starlightblunder 14:37, 8 April 2006 (EDT)

Seals Edit

It seems as if you cannot detect Paladin seals on yourself while showCastable is true. Blessings work ok though. I'll report this to a GM and let them sort it out.

New zone wide buffsEdit

The index count of 16, is it still valid after the zone wide PVP buffs (Silithus, EPL and hence AQ40, etc.)? Using a count of 16 seems to miss the maximum number of buffs on the target.

Castable behavior change... Edit

Okay, so this:

Patch 2.3.2 changed behaviour of castable parameter - spells cast by other players are no longer shown at all when castable is used. Bug or intented change?

... isn't quite correct. It's not that it only shows casts that you don't make, it seems to be somewhat random. For example, earlier tonight on my priest, I was able to set the 'castable' flag and see Blessing of Salvation (pally spell!) quite clearly using UnitBuff, and I'm pretty certain that I didn't cast that on myself!

Added macros to list buffs, updated for 3.0.Belleboom (talk) 15:23, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

content 3.0 Edit

  • duration - now appears to be the buffs max duration
  • expirationTime - looks like this is when the buff will expire according to system time

to get the new duration I tried this: local duration=(GetTime() - expirationTime);

not going to edit the article but putting it here for future reference BuffWarn (talk) 20:18, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
