Oceanmane Village is a small coastal tauren settlement[1] found on the most southwest coast of Kalimdor, near Silithus.[39, 95]VZ-SilithusBlip

It was inhabited by the Oceanmane, but they left long ago.[1] After the Fourth War, Rexxar and Zekhan passed by the village and entered Andrestrasz's lair, and the mok'nathal asked the dragon why he stayed in the village. Andre responded that he couldn't return to his flight until his old Oceanmane friend returned from his hunt, even though it was clear that the tauren brave wouldn't return. Zekhan promised Andre to visit him soon.[1]

Details[]

  • Two canoes lied at the shore and a windmill overlooked the area. It was probably meant as a stronghold of the Horde, Cenarion Enclave, or Grimtotem tribe. Due to its hard to reach position — by swimming or water walking, thus making use of the aquatic form — it might have had also something to do with druid training.
  • There was no NPCs or interactive objects either alive or as a ghost in this village.
  • Nearby to the east was small cave network that seemed to go beneath Ahn'Qiraj. This cave network, unlike the buildings, was not removed with remodeling of Kalimdor and was instead moved to the southern Ahn'Qiraj: The Fallen Kingdom (entrance at [42, 93]VZ-Ahn'QirajBlip). Due to the placements of the new zone and the cave network, the caves still branch beneath Ahn'Qiraj. The caves were empty except for a sleeping red dragon, added much later, named Andrestrasz and several piles of bones of various sizes. Although some bones could possibly be from tauren, the area is free of any signs of conflict.

How to get there[]

This area was (and the cave still is) reachable by swimming west from Land's End Beach and past Silithus. You can also swim south from the western corner of Feralas. At normal speed, this can take over ten minutes swimming. To speed this up, you could either find a friendly Shaman for the Spell frost windwalkon [Water Walking] buff, group with a Death Knight for their Spell deathknight pathoffrost [Path of Frost] buff, or acquire one or two doses of Inv potion 166 [Elixir of Water Walking]. With the implementation of flying mounts in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, getting to the remaining cave does not take long.
