Shadowmeld is a racial ability possessed by night elves that allows them to use [Stealth] while not moving. Movement or damage will cause Shadowmeld to deactivate.
Notes
Shadowmeld ability passively boosts rogues and druids' [Stealth] abilities. It is thought to be equivalent to about one rank of [Master of Deception]. While a Rogue's stealth is superior to Shadowmeld, the skills operate on different cooldowns. A rogue or druid can use Shadowmeld while their stealth ability is on cooldown without entering a visible state in between. As a bonus, one can log out while in Shadowmeld.
Shadowmeld can be used both in Moonkin and Tree of Life forms, giving night elves a slight advantage in defensive roles for PvP compared to tauren druids.

Tips and tactics
- You can use it while you are drinking or eating. This is really useful when you are doing PVP.
- You can use it to escape from Horde players that are chasing you.
- You use it as a counter spell resource: as soon as you use it, spells cast made on you will be interrupted (only on PVP).
- It's a great ability for PVP even more when you are on BG taking care of a flag.
- With timing and attention to patterns, many mob patrols may be evaded in Shadowmeld. Hunters combine the skill with [Feign Death] to solo instances and skip to the end of FedEx quests.
