Joining the Horde EditThis section concerns content exclusive to Mists of Pandaria.
When a Horde scouting party arrived to make peace, Riko volunteered to act as guide to them. When Sergeant Gorrok is attacked by the Jade Witch, Riko flees with Shokia and Kiryn. Riko soon develops romantic feelings for Kiryn. When Kiryn was suddenly trapped by a small group of jinyu, Riko defied Shokia's orders and chose to save Kiryn's life. When Riko frees Kiryn from the jinyu nets, he requests a kiss as a reward for saving her. Kiryn agreed to grant this reward, but when she removes her masak, Riko is shocked and confused by her ravaged, undead face, and flees in fear. However, when Kiryn finds herself again trapped and at the mercy of an overwhelming number of attackers, Riko appears from nowhere to save her once again, declaring that he doesn't care about her "weird dead face".
Siege of Orgrimmar EditThis section concerns content exclusive to Mists of Pandaria.
Deciding to travel to Kalimdor and set his foot on the new land for the first time, Riko joined Garrosh Hellscream's army and travelled to Durotar. Upon his arrival, he oversaw the docks in Bladefist Bay. However, when Garrosh was growing very corrupt and formed the True Horde to stand against all races in the world of Azeroth, Riko was among those that joined the Darkspear Rebellion and end Garrosh's rule as Warchief. Eventually, Riko took part in the Siege of Orgrimmar. After battling their way into Garrosh's inner sanctum, Riko, along with other members of the Horde held off waves of Kor'kron for the adventurers to cross. The siege ended when Garrosh was defeated and Vol'jin, leader of the Darkspear tribe, became the Horde's new Warchief.
Riko is a presumably young Hozen who features in the horde-side jade-forest questline. He is a relative of the chief of the Hozen tribe befriended by the horde expedition, sent with the horde scouting expedition. During this, he frees from various Jinyu traps, due to his attraction to her. He recounts some of these events to the player later. Prior to the Hozen-Jinyu battle, he is placed in charge of supplies.
- Riko only has one name, as opposed to the two of most hozen. This seems to be because he has not passed some variety of rite of passage. His involvement with the horde's expedition and supplies may have been intended as this rite by the chief.
