The rhinoceros, or rhino, is infamous for its bad temper and willingness to charge intruders. They are about 6 to 14 feet long, 3 to 6 feet high at the shoulder, and can weigh up to 6,000 pounds. When it is harassed or annoyed, a rhinoceros lowers its head and charges. Some druids choose them as their animal companion. They can be summoned by druids as nature's allies.

Only Hunters with the 51 talent point Beast Mastery will be able to tame these exotic beasts. Despite being decent tanks, they are not as popular in instances, due in part to their large size.

Trivia
−
Rhinos, when tamed, can get a tickbird to land on their horn. They will stay on the rhino's horn until the pet is desummoned or dies. The bird can be targeted and killed if the hunter decides to, wild rhinos sometimes have these as well, and if your rhino loses the tickbird you can get a new one by going near wild ones or killing a rhino with one, it will fly to your rhino's.

Revision as of 21:31, 7 July 2011

Humane syntax for specifying faction icons. This template is specifically for denoting how various factions react to players of other factions. It includes the two major factions (Horde and Alliance), neutral and combat faction markers, and a small handful of mutually exclusive factions. This template is intended to match the formatting provided by RaceIcon and ClassIcon, combining the factions into a single template. If no parameters are supplied, the default will be the neutral crest. If a faction is specified but not the size, the large crest will be shown.

Concise syntax: <Alliance/Combat/Horde/Neutral>

The following samples demonstrate the different possible icons from this template.

 • FactionIcon = Neutral (default)
 • Neutral = Neutral |large}} = Neutral
 • Combat = Combat |large}} = Combat |xlarge}} = Combat
 • Boss = Boss |large}} = Boss |xlarge}} = Boss

 • Venthyr = Neutral |large}} = Neutral |xlarge}} = Neutral

Sorting enabled

If you are using this icon in a sortable table, with no other text in the column, add |sort=. It visually looks identical, but the sorting is enabled. Do not use this feature when using this template in a header (== Horde ==)
