Ranger Lord Hawkspear is a level 60 rare mob high elf found patrolling the Quel'Lithien Lodge in Eastern Plaguelands. He is on a 5-8 hour respawn timer. Hawkspear is most likely the commander of the Quel'lithien since his title is "Ranger Lord."

-Ranger Lord Hawkspear had fought valiantly and stoically in the battle of Quel’thalas during the Third war, yet Arthas victory was inevitable. In the ruinous aftermath when the remaining high elves could gather themselves up, Lor'themar Theron, currently leader of the survivors, ordered Hawkspear to take what men he could and guard the borders against any undead raiders should they return. Hawkspear went on to take and fortify the Quel'Lithien Lodge, and though he could not prevent the entrance of every undead fiend into his beloved Quel’thalas it was partly by his efforts that the high elves were given time to rally untill the return of Prince Kael’thas Sunstrider. With the return and absence of Kael’ths, the Ranger Lord and his soldiers maintained their orders and kept constant vigilance on the plagueland borders.
-When news reached the isolated outpost of the blood elves rise, Hawkspear was quick to break any association with Silvermoon and brand all sin'dorei as enemies. He ordered his men to fire upon their former bretherin as if they were the undead themselves. The blood elves later alliance with the Horde also served to sever any chance of Hawkspear and his men coming into peaceful negotiaion with their tainted kin. Surrounded by enemies, tired, and with little hope in sight Hawkspear and his cadre seek to hold the line no matter the cost.
