"I'd recognize [trait] anywhere."

I'm guessing it's "those tusks" for trolls and "those horns" for tauren (and possibly female draenei, who don't have the prominent "facial appendages").  Anyone in the beta want to confirm this?

Update: It is "tusks" for trolls and "horns" for tauren.  However, despite the fact that draenei are glaringly dimorphic, Valok's speech remains the same (aside from "brother" vs. "sister") regardless of your death knight's gender.

So if I got this correctly, this quest effectively decides at least part of your character's background for you? INV Misc Orb 04Xavius, the Satyr Lord 19:00, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

A little. It's just a push to give players a sense of conflict between character-as-the-Lich-King's-minion and character-as-hero-before-it-got-killed. It's not enough to force any specific story and I've already heard players who intend to use it as a launching point for their character's backstory, whatever it is. --k_d3 19:23, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
I have to say I was disappointed at how little development was put into the transition from scourge. It seems like the story was rushed from deadline constraints. -- ScratchMonkey (talk) 10:47, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

lol, remember once when i saw like 10 Nelfs doing their version of the quest one after another and she kept saying how she took care of him/her. Hehe she must have been busy—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wendigo1337 (talk · contr).

Sadness

It says on the night elves page that her death is the saddest. What about Goby? He seemed to have some relatives. I think it should be changed. BobNamataki (talk) 00:52, January 30, 2010 (UTC)

According to Yazmina's page, that's also entirely NOT the reason her text is (arguably) the saddest. Specifically, it's this line: "When you were a child your mother would leave you in my care while she served at the Temple of the Moon. I held you in my arms and fed you with honey and sheep's milk to calm you until she would return. You were my little angel. Blasted Scourge... What have they done to you, <name>?" That being said, if we're not leaving it as-is I'd rather remove it entirely than argue over which NPC's death is more tragic. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 01:17, January 30, 2010 (UTC)
