Torch Catching | |
---|---|
Start | Master Fire Eater |
End | Master Fire Eater |
Level | 70 (Requires 1) |
Category | Midsummer Fire Festival |
Rewards | [Juggling Torch] x5 and [Burning Blossom] x5 |
Objectives
Catch 4 torches in a row, then speak with the Master Fire Eater.
- Catch 4 torches in a row
- [Unlit Torches] (provided)
Description
Now that you can throw a torch, let's see if you can catch one!
Take this stack of unlit torches. Go to the bonfire and throw a torch high into the air. Catch it before it hits the ground... then throw it back up! Catch four in a row, come back to me.
Careful! They're dangerous if they hit the ground! And don't miss any catches! If you do then you'll have to go back to the bonfire and start over. Good luck!
Rewards
5x [Juggling Torch] | 5x [Burning Blossom] |
Progress
Torch catching is a lot of fun, don't you think? But have care! You don't want to get singed!
Completion
Did you get burned? If you did, then maybe you'll think twice before playing with fire...
Just kidding! Well done! It's official. You're a bona fide fire juggler. Now get out there and have some fun!
Notes
Use the item standing near the fire, follow the shadow, then stand where the shadow stops. Do this four times.
It has been noted that sometimes the shadow is not displayed. The alternative, watching the torch itself, is very difficult. Below are some options if you can't see the shadow of the torch.
Try modifying your video settings and increase the setting for spell detail.
Another approach is to use First Person Mode (having the camera zoomed all the way in). Stand with the camera pointing straight up, launch your first torch, and begin running towards its landing spot. It will relaunch on its own a moment later so be ready to rush after it again. Since torch shadows rarely draw properly (or at all) this method is much more successful and significantly less disorientating than chasing the shadow.
A further approach is to zoom all the way out and watch from above. This may entail going into settings/Camera and increasing your maximum camera distance.

Objectives
Win the torch tossing game, then speak with the Master Fire Eater.
- Hit 8 braziers.
- [Practice Torches] (provided)
Description
So you want to be a fire juggler? Do you have what it takes? The dexterity? The reflexes? ...the courage? If you think so, then let's give you a little practice!
Take these torches and run near the bonfire. You'll see braziers with markers flashing above them. Toss a torch at a marked brazier. Be quick! Do it before the mark fades if you want credit for the toss!
Hit enough marked braziers before the time limit, then come back here... for your next lesson.
Progress
Quick! There's no time to waste!
Completion
Well done! You'll be a fire juggler faster than the fuse on a ground flower! Now gird yourself! The next test is when things really heat up...
Rewards
You will receive: [Burning Blossom] x5 and 4 40.
Gains
- ?? XP (or 7 59 at level 70))
Notes
This is a timed quest! Players have roughly 40 seconds to hit 8 braziers. Stand near the bonfire while attempting the quest.
Set the torch on a hotkey so you don't have to drag it, you only use the cursor to drop it.
If you're running late hitting where the arrows are, wait for the next arrow so that the cooldown can complete before the arrow moves again.
