Elemental Unrest
The subject of this article or section was part of the Elemental Unrest, a world event that heralded the beginning of the earth-shattering Cataclysm.

Destroyed one of each type of elemental rift during the Cataclysm launch event.
Criteria:

    • Water Powered

    • Wind Powered

Tripping the Rifts is only obtainable during the Cataclysm launch event. To receive this achievement, you must kill each of the 4 elemental types and receive their buffs.

Elemental camps can be found in every quest zone in Azeroth, Outland and Northrend.

Overview

The rifts are on a random spawn timer of approximately 50–56 minutes. It seems all rifts are on the same timer and occur about the same time.

  • Closing any level rift will count towards Tripping the Rifts[1].
  • You do not need to have all the buffs at the same time [2]
  • Rifts range anywhere from 3 to 5 per zone. Some zones do have more locations.
  • They de-spawn if not closed within 10 minutes.
  • You can only receive the DAILY (Once per day) quest Hammering It Out from a rift that is within your level range.
  • Each rift has 12 life points.
  • Destroying an elemental drains the rift of one life point.
  • Bring the rift to 0 life to kill it and spawn the elemental container.
  • The buffs lasts for an hour.
  • The buffs will disappear on death.
