Frostfire Bolt is a Mage ability that came with Wrath of the Lich King. It is used by Fire and Frost trees. Fire can use it as a primary nuke in place of 
[Fireball], Frost uses it as a proc from 
[Fingers of Frost]. It gains benefits from talents that affect both Frost and Fire damage.
Notes
It has been stated by Blizzard, that Frostfire Bolt will replace Fireball as the primary nuke for Fire specs in the later Tiers of Cataclysm[citation needed] .
For Frost Mages, Frostfire Bolt is the strongest snare in their spell archive. A 70% movement speed reduction can be achieved by combining the talents 
[Frostfire Orb] and

Glyphs
