Meeting a Great one | |
---|---|
Start | Oracle Orphan |
End | Oracle Orphan |
Level | 80 |
Category | Children's Week |
Previous | Playmates! |
Next | The Dragon Queen |
Objectives
Take your orphan, Roo, to visit the Etymidian [40, 82] at the Shaper's Terrace in Sholazar Basin. Make sure to call for him if he is not present when you get there.
- Roo taken to visit The Etymidian
Description
High-Oracle Soo-say always tell us about how Great Ones built shrines and we give them shinies, but he never see Great Ones. No one see Great Ones, but maybe you know how to find one?
Soo-say told us the Great Ones made a waygate and put it in the center of the southern part of Sholazar. Soo-say not say where it goes, but maybe it take us to a Great One! Take us through that waygate and let's find out, <name>.
Rewards
Progress
Do you know how to find a Great One? We've never seen one before.
Completion
We got to meet a Great One! Too bad it was during his nap time, but we understand. We like naps, too! Maybe we learn naps from Great Ones like we learn about shrines and shinies!
Can we come back and visit the Great One again when not sleeping?
Notes
Fly through the Waygate in Sholazar Basin to reach the Shaper's Terrace in Un'Goro Crater. Summon Roo on the Un'Goro side then run up the stairs to The Etymidian.
- Oracle Orphan says: Wow! A real Great One? We don't even think Soo-say has met a real Great One!
- Oracle Oprhan says: Um, hello, Mr. Great One. We are honored to meet you.
- Oracle Orphan says: Maybe you're asleep, Mr. Great one? We understand. Must be hard working being Great One, collecting all the shinies we leave for you.
- Oracle Orphan says: We brought you a gift, Great One. Maybe you see it when you wake up. Maybe you remember we came to see you, oki?
- The orphan places a small crystal supported by a tripod near the Etyidian's feet.
Note that while Powering the Waygate - The Maker's Overlook, which normally must be completed before the waygate becomes usable, requires level 77, it seems that being on this quest allows use of the waygate regardless of other conditions. Thus, characters lower than 77 can complete this quest relatively easily. Completion of the quest deactivates the waygate in Sholazar Basin, but the return gate in Un'Goro works even then.

Objectives
Speak to Orphan Matron Aria [49, 63] in Dalaran, then use the Oracle Orphan Whistle to call the orphan you will be taking care of during Children's Week.
- Speak to Orphan Matron Aria
- [Oracle Orphan Whistle] (provided)
Description
The orphans have been looking forward to the opportunity to meet friends like you, <name>. It's wonderful that you've agreed to take one into your care.
Take this whistle. With it, you will be able to call for the orphan you have agreed to sponsor. It will only last for a limited time - not much longer than Children's Week itself, in fact.
Please, <name>, call upon your orphan. He will be excited to meet you and see the sites of Northrend with you.
Progres
You taking care of us?
Completion
You take us away from puppy-men hatchlings? Good. We like you already. Mean puppy-men hatchlings took all our favorite toys away.
Notes
Accept the quest, then speak to Aria again to complete the quest.
- The Lich King's cruel reign has inflicted great suffering on all of Northrend's inhabitants, particularly the children. If you are friend to the Oracles or Frenzyheart Tribe of Sholazar, perhaps you might consider caring for an orphan for a week.
Ask about the orphans.
- The orphans we have taken in come from war torn Sholazar Basin. You can choose to care for either an orphaned Oracle hatchling or a Frenzyheart pup. Either will be happy to make a new friend, but you will only be able to care for one of them.
