In Arikara, Magatha Grimtotem sends you to summon and destroy the serpent of vengeance, Arikara. She claims the serpent is after Cairne Bloodhoof for his changes to the Tauren lore and customs, but it may be guessed that the serpent is really after her. This is the final quest in the Arikara quest chain, a series of quests involving the serpent Arikara in Thousand Needles. The first quest can be picked up at Freewind Post in Thousand Needles from Hagar Lightninghoof.

Quests in this AreaEdit
Other quests you may want to do along with this one, since they also take place in Darkcloud Pinnacle:
- - Get this from Cliffwatcher Longhorn in Freewind Post
- - Get from a wanted sign in Freewind Post
- - Pick this up on Darkcloud Pinnacle after defeating Arnak Grimtotem from Lakota Windsong.
You will need:
The place to summon Arikara is one of the "needles" of Darkcloud Pinnacle. To get to Darkcloud Pinnacle, head south down the road from The Great Lift to where it splits. Turn left and walk a few paces, looking to your left. You should see a path leading up. Follow the path up to reach Darkcloud Pinnacle. The coordinates for the beginning of the path are (31,36).
Once you have reached the top, head to the needle with only one bridge attached to it that has a large fire pit in the center, surrounded by little tables with what might be mummies (this is where they bury their dead, after all). The fire will not be lit yet. Coordinates: (37,35)
When you are ready, use the near the fire to summon Arikara. Defeat her and loot from her.
Take this refined and purified Incendia powder to Thousand Needles and toss it on the sacred fire of life. It is located in the Darkcloud Pinnacle on an isolated needle where they bury their dead.
The enchantment that I have weaved into the Incendia powder will summon Arikara to you, <name>.
I fear she may be stalking Cairne Bloodhoof; too much Tauren lore has changed, and I fear this has angered Arikara. Move quickly before all is lost, <class>!
This does not make sense. Why would Arikara be after Cairne Bloodhoof? Magatha could not be wrong, she is our most powerful shaman.
<Motega shakes his head.>
Regardless, your great deed to the Horde shall not go unnoticed - please, choose one of these as a reward for your aid.
