clrl
This item is crafted by Master Tailors with a skill level of 350 or above.

  +
Tips and tactics
The components are:

  +
* Use this spell if you need to run away from something. The enemy may still be able to hit you with ranged attacks, but otherwise, it can't move to attack you.
*1 Bolt of Imbued Netherweave

  +
* Consider using Nature's Grasp if you use this spell to run very often.
*1 Primal Water

  +
* Invaluable in PvP against Warriors, Rogues, Hunters, and Shamans.
*1 Primal Life

  +
* Use it for crowd control in an instance, if needed.

  +
Notes
To craft Primal Mooncloth, a Tailor must stand inside a Moonwell, such as the one at the Cenarion Refuge in Zangarmarsh. Crafting Primal Mooncloth yields a "Moonwell Restoration" buff, giving 12 health and mana per 5 seconds, which lasts 60 minutes.

  +
* Damage done to the target may prematurely end Entangling Roots. However, Roots is never broken by its own DoT.
  +
* Nature's Grasp is a buff that casts the highest rank of Entangling Roots on the next melee attacker.
  +
* Entangling Roots' cast time may be made instant with Nature's Swiftness (druid ability), or reduced by 0.5 seconds through Nature's Grace.
  +
* One of the few crowd control spells not subject to creature type restrictions (humanoid, beast, demon, etc.). It is, however, unreliable: It doesn't stop targets from casting spells or using ranged attacks, just from moving, so it is useless against casters and hunter-like NPCs. In addition, any creature that is immune to nature spells, as is common among elementals, is immune to Entangling Roots.

  +
Patch changes
The cooldown on the crafting is 96 hours (4 days). Tailors with Primal Mooncloth Specialization will obtain two pieces of Primal Mooncloth from the mats for one.

Glyph type Major Glyph
Source Automatic

Glyph of Entangling Roots is automatically learned by druids at level 25.

Notes

As of patch 4.0.6, the in-game tooltip reads that it reduces the cast time by .02 seconds. This is simply a typo, it correctly lowers the cast time by 0.2 seconds.

Patch changes

  • Legion Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Removed.
  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Item removed; now automatically learned at level 25. Effect updated.
Previous version: Reduces the cast time of your Entangling Roots by 0.2 sec.
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.6 (2011-02-08): Redesigned. It now reduces the cast time of Entangling Roots by 0.2 seconds, rather than making it instant cast.
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Effect changed: Now reduces the cast time of Entanging Roots by 100% but increases the cooldown by 5 sec.
Previously increased the damage required to break the roots effect by 20%.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Added.
