btw could you merge your race ideas? Kesmana (talk) 11:19, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Nah, thanks to you. I've some fan fics, but they're written in Spanish, my native language. I'll try to traduce some stuff today ;).
i mean...ur race ideas:???fox????mantis?????. :P Kesmana (talk) 12:17, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
I have further explanations on those, but I must translate them. They're short anyway. I'll try to translate the entire Azj'Aqir Compendium I made, but I can try to write something more about the mount races, the foxes and the mantis. Anyway, these ones are 100% made by me and haven't got any source in Warcraft universe. I'm with exams so, perhaps, you'll have to wait a bit :P.

ok then. BTW, if it is so hard, use translator, they are not perfect, but they may help Kesmana (talk) 12:21, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Ebon Blade

Please note that any information about the WotLK alpha, including the Ebon Blade, will be deleted following the NDA policy. g0urra[T҂C] 11:05, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes, the Covenant too. g0urra[T҂C] 11:06, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Everything? But the factions were confirmed by Blizzard, weren't they? So I suppose Valiance Expedition, The Silver Covenant, Explorer's League, The Taunka, The Hand of Vengeance, Warsong Offensive, The Kalu'ak, Kirin Tor, The Wyrmrest Accord and Knights of the Ebon Blade follow the NDA policy too... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lon-ami (talk · contr).
"Leaked alpha content" does not mean "confirmed by Blizzard". g0urra[T҂C] 11:14, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Ok, excuse me, I didn't know it was leaked. Lon-ami (talk) 11:16, 24 June 2008 (UTC) (Sorry, I forgot to sign)

New cats

Love the work you're doing, but I'm not sure if we need a category for each novel. Do you mind explaining your thinking? --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 14:45, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Well, I still must categorize everything, but I can assure you that they'll end being filled.
Categories for each book are quite empty now, and they only serve as support for pages like that book's characters and media. Anyway, pages with prominent book content, like a discussion or a deep speculation, could be categorized into that categories.
Some examples:
There we have two important categories: characters and books, and another bit useless category, where those categories are categorized. Right now, http://www.wowwiki.com/Category:Warcraft:_The_Sunwell_Trilogy only serves as support for characters and books, but articles with prominant Sunwell info could be categorized into this category. You know, content related to The Sunwell Trilogy that can't be included in books or characters.
Series have only a category, like Sunwell, where we have http://www.wowwiki.com/Category:Warcraft:_The_Sunwell_Trilogy but we don't have http://www.wowwiki.com/Category:Warcraft:_The_Sunwell_Trilogy: Dragon Hunt.
Anyway, if they end being too empty after I finish adding info, I could gather them all in the same folder and remove each-book's category. Like they all were novels of a trilogy. Just wait for when I finish all the work ;).
Hope you understand my point of view now... Anyway, ask anything you want if it's still unclean, I'm not good at expressing myself :P.

I don't know if you realized this, but the http://dccomics.com/wildstorm/ external links to specific WoW comics eventually roll off the DC Comics web site and become bad links, so don't leave them as the only external links on WoW comic article. Also please don't remove refs unless they have bad info. Even old info is useful sometimes. --Gengar orange 22x22Beware the sneaky smile! Fandyllic (talk · contr) 2:32 PM PST 21 Apr 2009

But they're uslees. It's like putting references to a book in the page of that book. Of course, I'm speaking of books who have been released.
I'd just leave them as external links, but no references. Well, I'm not sure at all.
Also, the pages disappear, yeah, but the previews and the covers are still there, in the same number-id. It's worth having it stored somewhere.

RE: Can you "move" image pages?

Yes, you can move images to a different name, but a tip is to leave the "Leave a redirect" box empty, or it could look ugly. Be sure to check what pages links to the image before you move it though. --g0urra[T҂C] 18:06, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Oh, so I can move them by myself? Didn't know, thanks a lot. I think I'm gonna follow a common style for all the related images, like the covers and whatever. Thanks, again ;) --Lon-ami (talk) 18:08, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Oh, wait, but where's the button to move it? :( --Lon-ami (talk) 18:11, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
The button should be at the top of the article, where the usual Move button is. Alternately you can use Special:MovePage and specify to move the full file name (like "File:Example.jpg"). --g0urra[T҂C] 19:15, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Ah, I found the problem: I'm not allowed to move files. It must be something exclusive for you moderators :S. Turn on for us normal users or just move some files for me, please. --Lon-ami (talk) 19:19, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
What files did you have in mind? And, if you don't mind, try write on one line. --g0urra[T҂C] 19:23, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Ah, ok, sorry :P. I was thinking about covers and cover artworks. You know we have moe than one volume/issue, and it's just annoying to have them all with different names. I'd propose this: WoW15CoverArtwork - WoW15Cover - WoW15CoverB - Legends5Cover - WoW15Cover. That style more or less, using the short name and then the key words. A or B in the end helps differentiate if there are more than one official cover. For sample or placeholders, just put Sample in the end before the letter. Something like that, hope you understand me. --Lon-ami (talk) 19:30, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Stubs go at the top of articles, with few exceptions. This is due to the infoboxes or images in the way that causes them to create huge gaps between sections. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 20:24, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Ok, I thought it didn't matter, not at all, because, well, there are tons and tons of articles with the templates in the middle of the page, disorganizing all.
Anyway, I don't understand then why the template has "This article or section" if it can't be used that way. Also, it seems that template in particular has problems adapting itself to the article. Others, like "novel" or "rpg" don't disorganize all.

Warcraft III categories

Might I ask why you created the amount of categories? The category such as "Warcraft III melee orc heroes" is redundant as two our of four orc hero units are ranged and two are melee; very small categories such as that is not preferred according to the category policy. I don't understand either the category "Warcraft III melee human buildings", are there even any human buildings that are "melee"? --g0urra[T҂C] 15:47, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Melee refers to the RTS melee, the "ladder" or the official melee maps. There's melee and there's campaign, as classified by the game and the world editor. It's all part of the RTS units project--Lon-ami (talk) 15:50, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
I've never heard of those. Do you have any examples? --g0urra[T҂C] 15:54, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
When you enter Bnet you can play 2 types of maps: Ladder or custom. Ladder are those played at tournaments, where you just play the same all the time: start with a townhall and a group of workers, and harvest resources and build, RTS. Normal maps, normal gameplay. I don't know how they are exactly called.--Lon-ami (talk) 15:57, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
How are they different compared to "normal" buildings? --g0urra[T҂C] 16:00, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Am... it's not the same. Warcraft III is a RTS, but the inside gameplay can change. DotA, Tower Defenses, Sniper arena, Uther party... those aren't RTS, and those aren't official ladder. The official ladder is the original gaemplay of RTS.
The melee content can be found here: [1]. Everything missing there isn't melee. Naga and draenei, for example, aren't melee, are campaign. They are official but they aren't tournament-official. You can't play with them.
What's melee can be found, too, at the template WC3box.--Lon-ami (talk) 16:10, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
I looked at {{WC3UnitBox}}, {{Warcraft III units}} and {{Warcraft III buildings}}, and nowhere are there any "melee" units. The site you linked says nothing about any melee units or buildings - the only thing it mentions are "Melee Maps", and those aren't official. To be honest we shouldn't add every single (hero) unit from every custom map, which sounds like what you suggest, even if it's from theee "ladder" maps. They would simply be too many.
And going back, I don't see anywhere on the RTS units project article that melee buildings or units should be added, nor any custom ones. --g0urra[T҂C] 16:23, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Melee isn't melee, it's a game term for the official gameplay of the game. There are units, as Captain that aren't melee, they're campaign. Others, like the Huntress, are melee.

You only have to open your World Editor or enter Battle.net to see them labelled as mele. If you haven't downloaded maps, then, all the maps you have are melee, save those inside the scenario folder, that aren't melee.

The units at the templates are all melee. Those that don't appear there are melee. There's an old article with all the info: Warcraft III units.--Lon-ami (talk) 16:29, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

So if the "melee" units and buildings are the same as the "normal" units and buildings, why make it complicated? To be honest these should be "Warcraft III campaign buildings" and "Warcraft III custom buildings" under "Warcraft III buildings", and likewise with the units. --g0urra[T҂C] 16:33, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Warcraft III units is supposed to include all the units. Also, they are classified under different categorizations. Something like this: User talk:Sandwichman2449/RTS units project#Categorization. There's no simple "orc units" category. The melee one could be moved there, but then, we'd have to categorize the another one there and all would go crap.
Trust me, once the cleaning and everything else is finished, it will be easy to understand. Also, the pages are classified for proper linkings of RTS strategies and things like that.--Lon-ami (talk) 16:42, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
So you just based a big decision on the opinion of just one other user, and waited just one day for it. To be honest that's not a real basis for the decision, but I guess you think different. I added my opinion to the discussion. --g0urra[T҂C] 16:56, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

They can always be moved. Better to have something than to have nothing, nope? Until today, no one has cared about Warcraft III categories. See you in the discussion over the project.--Lon-ami (talk) 16:58, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Just wanted to tell you for if you didn't know (you seem new). Sometimes is better to leave the red names, when you know they're important. Other times, when they don't make sense at all, you should remove them without problems.

Ogre icons

I always put the color of the ogres have because there are many ogre mages that are either blue or pale pink, there are many ogres that are either blue or pale pink. Actually being mage or not doesn't have anything to do with the skin color, even the WC2 ogres weren't blue. Lastly, can you mention an ogre mage with just one head? Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 18:33, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

I interprete it like this, also, according to the names in the templates:
IconSmall Ogre Male: 1 headed ogre
File:IconSmall Ogre Male2 Small.gif: 2 headed ogre
File:IconSmall Ogre Mage2 Small.gif: 1 headed ogre mage
File:IconSmall Ogre Mage Small.gif: 2 headed ogre mage
Color doesn't mean anything, cause, well, there are red ogres and whatever.
Also: during the second war there were 2-headed ogre warriors, and Dentarg is an ogre mage and is 1-headed according to BtDP. Also, the RPG shows 1-headed ogre-mages File:Ogre mage.png.--Lon-ami (talk) 18:54, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Ok, the RPG shows ogre magi with one head. But the icon would be useless, becuase there is just one ogre mage with one head (although he was two-headed in the game and manual and we don't have even a picture to see his appareance).
Also check again WC2, there were ogre magi: [2]. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 19:08, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Also don't you think that it will confuse people that they saw an icon of a pale pink ogre and then get a blue ogre and viceversa? Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 19:19, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Elder character class

I know nothing about the character class, other than that the link Elder redirected to Elders, a page that is now called Lunar Festival Elders. I suggest that Elder be changed to a page on the class, as it is referred to from such pages as Mastran. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:52, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Looking about it, neither Template:Warcraft RPG classes, nor Template:WoW RPG classes includes 'Elder' as a class.--Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:07, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, my mistake. I'm accustomed to write "Elder" in character tables as a role, so it probably didn't notice the fail. Remove it if you want, cause it's definitely not a class, just a role.--Lon-ami (talk) 08:50, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Warcraftt: Legends Moves

The correct usage in a title should be the number written as a word, not the digit (exactly why companies do so on the front cover). This is also the one used on the front cover which is what the title is derived from. How they may be writen on product sites or inside is rather irrelevant.

Ignoring that though, i merely moved them as they lacked both forms to be consitent with the previous volumes which had access from both word and digit forms, so i've no desire to change it and possibly start an edit war. -- Zeal (T/C)  16:29, September 5, 2009 (UTC)

Well, it's clearer to use "5" instead of "five" in the article names, and pretty much every article follows that pattern. Also, inside the book, where the copyright and that stuff is written, it appears as "5", so I'd say there's no final decision on that. I wanted to open a forum thread for the general usage of number, but I don't know what to write. If you decide to open a thread about this topic, I'll join you.
Ignoring that thought, too, I just moved them because there's too much linking to the versions with the numbers xD. Also, I always call for talk, and never star edit wars :P.--Lon-ami (talk) 16:40, September 5, 2009 (UTC)

Why make it into a complete stuff with characters and whatever? As far as I know, only dragons have a template like that, and I find it reasonable because they only have 8 different groups.
Feel free to add more info if you want, but I always found useless those kind of templates, which should be in text format on the Naga page and nowhere else.--Lon-ami (talk) 08:56, September 9, 2009 (UTC)

Spoiler policy

Where is the Spoiler policy you mentioned? --Frejh (talk) 10:42, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

Update:
We do not always flag spoilers — if new information has come out it will be added to the wiki.

Thus spoilers are not always excluded. I think it actually makes sense to put on a spoiler tag on articles regarding specific official Warcraft media. Let me give you an example: If you are visiting the article regarding the novel Arthas you might just want to get a hunch of the storyline of the novel, but you probably don't want mayor plot twists to be revealed. However if you are visiting the Arthas article, you probably want to get as much official information as possible regarding Arthas background story.

Source: http://www.wowwiki.com/WoWWiki:About --Frejh (talk) 11:06, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

Probably right. Anyway, WoW Volume 2 didn't deserve the spoiler tag, just because it has no summaries or whatever, just the descriptions and the characters.
I would ask some moderator before starting to apply the spoiler tag everywhere, since they never marked them before. Or, better, go to the forum and open a thread.
It will save you time in case they don't want spoiler tags.
Okay, thank you for the information. I will discuss the issue on the forum. --Frejh (talk) 11:15, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

Scrolls of Lore "membership badge"

I happened upon this over at Scrolls of Lore and decided to create this just because:

Scrolls of Lore This user is a registered member of Scrolls of Lore!

What do you think? It is not like {{Wwclub}}. I tried to match the colors to the website's. You can move it to a transcludeable template if you want.--SWM2448 21:05, October 4, 2009 (UTC)

That. Is. Just. Awesome. Thanks you very much! The color definitely matches, I love it. I, personally, don't like userboxes, but there's going to be people that will use it, you can be sure. And I myself could start using it, why not.
For now, let's leave it here, and if there's enough people wanting to use it so it deserves to be a template, then I myself will make it so.
My original idea was to create a badge, with that same scroll in the background, and the words "Scrolls of Lore" in front of it. That same image, but bigger and with expanded text. Anyway, adding some stuff around, like the circular letters of Wwclub, would be nice, but it would be a hard work, so let's leave it for another day.
For now, I'll use this, I'll show it at WoWWiki and see if I can make people give ideas for the badge.
Thanks! Smiley.--Lon-ami (talk) 10:56, October 5, 2009 (UTC)

Template created: {{User SoL}} Winky.--Lon-ami (talk) 17:18, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
For the future, you might want to try to reduce the number of parser functions, as they can be quite load-heavy. I put most of them in a subpage, so that the same group of parser functions could be loaded once and used several times. I'm not sure how it will react to having a parameter, so it might not make a difference though. Anyway, remember the tip for the future. CogHammer Ose talk/3721 21:30, November 3, 2009 (UTC)

Lon-ami, while I made {{User SoL}}, {{User SoL Rank}} is too much. It was decided that it violates WW:DNP, as it is Off-topic content. It is a template whose whole point is tracking the amount of posts Scrolls of Lore users make in their forum. The forum itself is not part of the Warcraft universe, and is not part of WoWWiki. {{Cowbell}} went, so this needs to go too. I am sorry, as you put a lot of work into it, but a template to track achievements on another fan site is off-topic.--SWM2448 02:00, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

Ok, no problem, I just wanted to try implementing some functions, and that was the first and easiest example I had. Anyway, let me move it instead to my user space, cause I want it as a reference until I apply it to future templates.--Lon-ami (talk) 15:33, November 4, 2009 (UTC)
It was just a test? If so, then why the hype on SoL?--SWM2448 20:46, November 4, 2009 (UTC)
Well, if I'm going to make it, why not tell people to use it?
Of course, I didn't expect it to be against the rules, making it to be removed >_<. What I mean as "test" is that I wanted to do something working with those features, and that ranks were great for it. Of course I'd have made anything else, but I'd prefer it to be of some use; and I got this as a suggestion.
Anyway: I've it now at my user page, just because I want to keep it and because I'd like Ose to explain the changes made; for learning, more than all; and not repeating the same mistakes in a future. The question is: since some people from SoL could want to use it, could I let them link to it, or must I stop them if they try to? Don't expect them to be a lot of users, anyway.
That's all, don't worry about it ;).--Lon-ami (talk) 21:18, November 4, 2009 (UTC)
(Anyway, I'm planning on making a similar one with W3 Bnet rankings; would it be "legal"?)
If it involves Warcraft its ok, so a WC3 battlenet one is fine. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 21:21, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

Regarding the changes I made, they really just the template less redundant. Instead of repeating the whole ifexpr sequence twice, I placed it on anothe page, and made it output the result to the template page, with switches to determine the final template output. New Council of Tirisfal

...and yet he's not called the "New Guardian of Tirisfal", simply "Guardian of Tirisfal". The Council may be different. The job is not, combined magic schools or no. --Joshmaul (talk) 17:53, November 6, 2009 (UTC)

Well, yeah, neither the council nor the guardian are named in any new way; but it's this or merging the 2 articles.
Anyway, if you feel you're right, put Guardian there till someone create an article or section for the New Guardian. After all, linking somewhere is better than linking nowhere.--Lon-ami (talk) 17:56, November 6, 2009 (UTC)

Three Bugs

May you comment you suggestion to split the Three Bugs please?

I don't see what "lore" you want to put in their article.

IconSmall Hamuul Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 18:11, December 24, 2009 (UTC)

I don't remember, I added that long ago. If you don't find any lore for them, feel free to remove the split suggestion. I'll add it back if I find relevant information, with the information attached.--Lon-ami (talk) 11:49, December 25, 2009 (UTC)

About Gurtogg Bloodboil

You added Gurtogg Bloodboil as a member of the Bonechewer clan on the latter's article. Are you sure about that? Where does it come from? Veher18 (talk) 17:30, January 3, 2010 (UTC)

He's surrounded by Bonechewer fel orcs; that made me guess he was a Bonechewer. It's just that, there's nor quest neither text around I know mentioning him being of any clan.--Lon-ami (talk) 17:34, January 3, 2010 (UTC)

"Cataclysm Trilogy"

I'm wondering what your source is for claiming that The Shattering: Prelude to Cataclysm is part of a trilogy as per your edit. Theres no evidence of this from what i can tell. -- Zeal (T/C)  18:46, February 11, 2010 (UTC)

Christie Golden told at the last BlizzCon she was working on a Cataclysm trilogy. This one leaked, and considering her work after Arthas is the trilogy, it's safe to assume this book is part of it.
Still, I wouldn't create more pages about the trilogy until it gets officially announced or we have enough info to fill them ;).--Lon-ami (talk) 13:12, February 12, 2010 (UTC)

New 1k Needles 5man

Please can you provide a source for this change. -- Zeal (T/C)  19:58, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

I'll search it, but it simply said that there was no new instance there, and that it was just RFD, possibly re-attuned for the levels of the new area. Right now I could give you "unofficial" sources that I've at hand, but I don't think those are legit.
Anyway, the "RFD new instance thing" was a WoWInsider speculation made because the Cata chart had a symbol over there. Nothing very legit, anyway.--Lon-ami (talk) 11:12, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

Your opinion is desired

Hey Lon-ami, I know you're a regular editor to WoWWiki, so I just wanted your opinion on whether WoWWiki should leave Wikia. Let me know if you have any questions, or post them on the forums. Also, you're part of the Spanish WoWWiki, so just wanted to see if they were going to do anything. We'll try to keep the interwiki link thing going either way on our side. --PcjWowpedia wiki manager (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 21:26, October 5, 2010 (UTC)
