The Northern islands are a group of islands north and slightly east of the Maelstrom between the continents. They appear on most world maps, but have yet to have names or significant information.
These are islands that resemble the Broken Isles in Warcraft III, the place where the Tomb of Sargeras and fallen night elf city of Suramar lies. However, in Warcraft III the Broken Isles are near the Maelstrom, and Lands of Mystery establishes that the Broken Isles are south of the Maelstrom in the South Seas.
In Wrath of the Lich King, these isles were interestingly removed. They may be represented by the battleground Strand of the Ancients.
