The entrance

Magisters' Terrace, commonly known as MgT or SPLAT5 is a 5-man instance located on the northeastern corner of the Isle of Quel'Danas, which was released in Patch 2.4.0. The instance is mostly outdoors, uses the same architecture as Silvermoon and has a observatory where players can gaze at stars and look at the Sunwell to make sure everything went according to plan.

The final boss is none other than Kael'thas Sunstrider, who has survived his ordeal in Tempest Keep. However, some people believe he was indeed killed, but was resurrected by a greater power, which may explain the green crystal embedded in his chest (possibly a reference to Iron Man or the Ever Man, Berem, from The Chronicles Trilogy of Dragonlance books by Margaret Weiss and Tracey Hickman.)

Magisters' Terrace is the first 5-man instance to be added via patch since Dire Maul in Patch 1.3, more than two years earlier, and only the third to be added via patch. Maraudon was the first in Patch 1.2.

The instance contains four bosses: Selin Fireheart, Vexallus, Priestess Delrissa and Kael'thas Sunstrider. Kael'thas does appear in Normal mode as well. On heroic mode, the instance will drop epics that are on par with Karazhan with Kael'thas dropping items on par with Prince Malchezaar in Karazhan.[1]

Halfway through the instance, a usable item known as the Scrying Orb begins a short cutscene unveiling the Sunwell Plateau raid. Following this, players meet with Kalec, the half-elf avatar of the Blue Dragon Kalecgos.

The instance gives approximately 1640 reputation with the Shattered Sun Offensive for a full clear on Normal mode.

Bosses

Mob Selin Fireheart
71 Elite, similar fight to Warlord Kalithresh
Mob Vexallus
71 Elite, spawns small adds that must be killed similar to The Curator.
Mob Priestess Delrissa + Four random mini-bosses.
70 Elite, Boss must be done when room is half-cleared. They will not aggro the rest of the room.
Mob Kael'thas Sunstrider
72 Elite, Does a gravity-effect that causes the room to be like water. Make sure you 'swim' away from the floating spheres and other players. You can still cast spells (both offensive & defensive) while in this state.

Trash

Mob Special Note Heroic Mode
Sunblade Blood Knight Hits decently hard. Heals with Holy Light. Uses a stealable seal that adds large amounts of holy damage to each melee and spells.
Sunblade Mage Guard Drops stationary Magic Dampening Fields that reduce spell damage and healing received by the target by 75%.
Sunblade Magister Uses Arcane Explosion and Frostbolt. Every spell cast grants them a stacking 10% haste bonus to spellcasting (the haste buff is stealable). Cannot be Mind Controlled.
Sunblade Warlock Repeatedly casts Incinerate and occasionally casts Immolate. Has a stealable fel armor buff that provides 250 spell damage. Comes with an easily killed Imp pet.
Sunblade Physician Enchants their weapons with a poison that deals 1.2k-1.4k to the target. Can also cast Prayer of Mending.
Wretched Bruiser Melee mob. Doesn't hit very hard. Uses a fel infusion to increase speed and damage dealt. Also uses an ability that reduces healing done to the target (just like mortal strike) Hit clothies for 2-3k. AoEing these is not reccomended.
Wretched Skulker Dual Wield mob. Uses fel infusion to increase attack speed and damage Hit clothies for 2-3k. AoEing these is not reccomended.
Wretched Husk Casts frostbolts and fireballs on main target.
Sunblade Sentinel Low aggro radius. Casts fel lightning on all nearby party members. Hits for ~1500 fire damage.
Brightscale Wyrm Comes in large packs (10+) before Vexallus. They provide a stacking damage buff upon being killed.
Sunblade Keeper A single patrol that sometimes spawns with the Wyrms. Will detonate a mana cell, causing the Wyrm groups to go into a feeding frenzy and temporarily act as a single, large group.
Sister of Torment Casts Deadly Embrace, a seduce effect, on random targets. Can target the tank.
Ethereum Smuggler Will occasionally teleport to a random target and begin spamming a very fast-casting Spell nature wispsplode [Arcane Explosion].
Coilskar Witch Attacks with a bow. Uses Forked Lightning.

Heroic mode

To unlock Heroic mode for the Magisters' Terrace, you must first complete the quest chain started by Kalec, that ends with N [70D] Hard to Kill, killing Kael'thas in the process.
