What the heck? Original research much? - LucidFox (talk) 07:56, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Brute transfert of the real life Taiga with no Warcraft source.
I would say deletion is in order

its observational data from wow itself. if you look at all of the forest north of a certain point the trees are Coniferous, this is the definition of a boreal forest.
Seven44 (talk) 08:39, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
Observed yes, but sadly this is not enough and only based on something taken in real life.
Wow does not follow the same pattern: killer whale with horns, intelligent raptors, etc....
IconSmall Hamuul Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 08:45, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

what if I just renamed the whole article 'Forests of Azeroth', is that warcraftian enough for you? also im not completely ripping off the wikipedia article there's lots to write about that is specifically related to wow. Seven44 (talk) 08:51, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

What's your source for that it's "15°N to 70°N" of Azeroth? Why are they named "taiga" and "boreal forest"? Do you have some basis for that that is connected to Warcraft? It's just terms right from Wikipedia. --g0urra[T҂C] 08:55, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
look at the model of Azeroth you can see from outland, if you applied degrees of longitude and latitude to the planet that is where the coniferous forests of Azeroth are located. Seven44 (talk) 09:00, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
What makes it that geographically correct? Do you have any basis on what is the ABSOLUTE north and south? Again, there's no basis that it's actually called "taiga" or "boreal forest". --g0urra[T҂C] 09:23, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
Edit: I saw that you renamed it "Coniferious forest" (which I guess is a misspelling of "Coniferous forest"), based on Temperate coniferous forest. Again, no basis. --g0urra[T҂C] 09:25, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
Why are we even discussing? this article does not belong here

Inv misc pocketwatch 02 [Smotts' Compass] this proof that there are compasses in wow and a compass would not work without polarity of north and south, also the names of places speak for themselves, like NORTHrend and the SOUTH seas. its all very clear. Seven44 (talk) 09:33, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

I didn't say that there's a north and south, I'm questioning what you think some points of the planet are the south and north "pole". --g0urra[T҂C] 09:35, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Degrees of latitude and longitude arn't based upon magnetic poles (which change over time) they are based upon hemispheres which correspond to the rotational axis. There is no way you could argue that the top part of Azeroth isn't the Northern hemisphere. Seven44 (talk) 09:40, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

I didn't say magnetic poles, I meant geographical poles (which should be obvious to you, unless you want to make this even more aggravating). Latitude and longitude are based on an equator (based on the Wikipedia description: "latitude of a location on the Earth is the angular distance of that location south or north of the Equator.") There's no such thing described as an equator on Azeroth, and as such you cannot use latitude and longitude in Azeroth. What you're trying to do is putting a real life phenomenon onto a fantasy world, based on guesses and observations and no basis. --g0urra[T҂C] 09:45, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

many of the articles written on this site discuss wow as being observed from outside of the warcraft universe and for this reason employ terms and concepts that do not appear in warcraft, terms borrowed from our own universe. these are often terms and concepts never mentioned by Blizzard. The fact that Azeroth is a planet implies that it has an equator much in the same way that it is implied that humans in warcraft have a large intestine even though its not specifically stated. Seven44 (talk) 09:59, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Terms are borrowed. And when they are, we make articles about it. This one in particular hasnt. Thats the end of it. Warthok (talk) 10:08, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

http://www.wowpedia.org/Taiga_Bindings here is proof the term exists in WoW Seven44 (talk) 10:27, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Let's be silly!
Where is the evidence that "Taiga" is not the name of someone?
When you don't know, don't assume too much

As far as I understand it, the deletion policy allows for two methods of deletion: {{Delete}}, which calls for a vote, and {{Speedydelete}} which calls for the deletion of spam and extremely short pages. There is no actual tag for a deletion conversation without a vote. I'm not being overly bureaucratic. I honestly thought A'noob forgot the vote.--SWM2448 02:16, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

While I can sympathize with the author's intentions, this seems more like original research and speculation rather than verifiable information. Perhaps he/she would be better off moving this information to a section of his/her user page instead. --Tycerius (talk) 04:31, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
