[[Brann Bronzebeard]] last wrote about him around the time of the Sunwell Trilogy. He is said to rule from the Shrine of Ula-Tek, an area in Zul'Aman not accessable in game. As that area is not found ingame its unclear if he was ousted from his position of warlord, or still continues to rule over the Shrine and his portion of Zul'Aman. Lands of Conflict also discusses a few other warlords from Zul'Aman including Thresh'jin, implying that the land is controlled by several warlords, and Jin'zakk was/is one of the most powerful in the region.

Gamespy reported that: ''"After defeating this brutal quartet, you gain access to the innermost reaches of Zul'Aman, home to Hexxlord Jin'Zakk, and the big man himself, Zul'Jin. Jin'Zakk earned his lofty title by weaving the dark magic that enslaved the animal gods, but alas, his in-game representation was as inert as the lynx and eagle lords'."''[http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/world-of-warcraft/803894p2.html] This hints that Jin'zakk was going to be added to the game (with a different rank than stated in the RPG), but was replaced before release with [[Hex Lord Malacrass]].
