Island of Doctor Lapidis is an island in the South Sea off the coast of Stranglethorn Vale. It is a Jungle troll island that is currently not in World of Warcraft. It also appears in several maps throughout the Warcraft RPG, for example Monster Guide Web Supplement, 2007.

Islands

In World of Warcraft

The island existed during the WoW alpha - however, it no longer exists in-game (beyond the appearance in the intro cinematic).

This is one of the islands that were southwest of Stranglethorn Vale, the other being Gillijim's Isle. There is however an item named after the island called Inv drink 03 [Lapidis Tankard of Tidesippe].

This island and Gillijim's Isle may be in the upcoming expansion. If you look upon the released information about The Wrath of the Lich King expansion you will find an updated map with many new features including these islands and ones added to Lordaeron. Also if you look closely there is an extended peninsula added to the zone west of Burning Steppes. It is suspected that all of this will be added in the new expansion. Some players believe that the map shown at BlizzCon is in fact a map from the Warcraft alpha (However, it is not a true alpha map as it includes Azuremyst Isles, and the altered Quel'Thalas from The Burning Crusade, which were not part of the original alpha). This alone does not disprove that the island won't be added in, but it does put some doubt on the subject.
