Overview
The honor system is a way for players to gain honor rewards by participating in PvP (random, world or battleground). The new system, as of patch 2.0, does away with weekly rankings and honor rating by substituting an honor point plus mark of honor accumulation system.
There are many PvP Rewards that can be purchased with honor and the respective battleground tokens. As can be expected, the higher the relative value of an item, the higher the 'cost' of that item.
At present, a level 60 player that kills another level 60 player will receive 14 honor points for their first kill. There is a diminishing return on subsequent kills, which will reduce the honor received by 10%. After 10 kills that particular opponent will no longer yeild any honor points when killed. This factor is reset daily, when the honor calculations are run on the servers. (Usually between 12AM to 2AM PST for American servers, and between 12AM and 2AM CET for European servers.)
