Honor point refers to points awarded by competing against enemy faction players that can be turned in for honor rewards.

Added with content Patch 2.0.1.

There are several sources of Honor:

Earning Honor Points

As of Patch 2.4, Honor points are calculated instantly, with the awarded honor points being usable immediately by the player. Prior to then, Honor points were calculated and awarded once a day based on the PvP activities of the character.

Honor Cap

Currently (Patch 2.4.2), players can have a maximum of 75000 honor points. Everything earned above that is lost. From the official website:[1]

Honorable kills

An honorable kill (abbreviated HK) is the simplest method of earning honor points. Honorable Kills are gained by killing members of the opposite faction, the faction leaders or some boss on PvP zone like Toravon. If you kill an opposing player that is within 5 levels of you, you gain honor. The amount of honor you gain is based on your level and your target's level. You do not need to deliver the killing blow, nor do you even need to be in the same party. All members of a party will receive honor and an honorable kill if they are proximity to the kill.

Objectives

Many objectives exist in both Battlegrounds and in World PvP that yield honor points.

Battlegrounds

During Battlegrounds Holiday, honor from these battlegrounds is increased from those values noted. Fewer honor points are rewarded at lower levels.

  • Capturing the opponents flag rewards 40 honor (at level 60).
  • Winning the match rewards 20 honor (at level 60) .
  • Collecting multiples of 330 resources (330, 660, 990, 1320, 1650, 1980) rewards 20 honor each (at level 60).
  • Winning the match rewards 20 honor (at level 60).
  • Killing Enemy General, Vanndar Stormpike for Horde and Drek'thar for Alliance (62 honor).
  • Killing Enemy Captain, Balinda Stonehearth for Horde and Galvangar for Alliance (62 honor).

  • Collecting multiples of 330 resources (330, 660, 990, 1320, 1650, 1980) rewards 20.5 honor each.
  • Winning the match rewards 40 honor.
  • Losing the match rewards 20.5 honor.

World PvP

Azeroth World PvP
  • Capturing a tower (Crown Guard, Northpass, Eastwall, Plaguewood) rewards 19 honor points.
Northrend World PvP
  • Capturing the final objective, Wintergrasp Fortress, will award players with Honor Points.
