Lane appears to have been incapacitated by a scratch from one of the thorns native to Nagrand, his condition worsening as the player goes through the Talbuk Mastery quests, and suddenly (and suspiciously) becoming "better" upon the death of Bach'lor.
He starts the following quests:

Wrath of the Lich King EditThis section concerns content exclusive to Wrath of the Lich King.
Hemet Nesingwary's hunters have now journeyed to Northrend in search of bigger game. Angered by the reckless decimation of wildlife brought on by Hemet's hunters, the group D.E.H.T.A. has arisen in opposition.
Harold Lane, now styling himself "The Fur Baron" (and known to the druids as The Borean Butcher), can be found near the hunters' encampments along Lake Kum'uya in the Borean Tundra. He is the last of the major hunters in the Tundra to be hunted down and slain by players aiding D.E.H.T.A., in the quest [72G3] . While the quest is marked as a group quest, it can easily be soloed by anyone. Veteran 70's should have good enough gear to tackle him on their own, and those who don't just need to blow the Cenarion Horn provided by the quest. The horn will summon a herd of stampeding rhinos and mammoths who will run him over and take away a huge chunk of his HP.
- Throw Bear Pelt: Throws a bear pelt causing 1000-1200 damage (to leather) every three seconds.
- Bear Trap: Roots the player in place and does 315 damage every second for 10 seconds. While the player is trapped, Lane will often go to ranged distance and use the Throw Bear Pelt ability.
When Cenarion Horn is used:
- You seek to deafen me? Pathetic... Wait... What's that sound?
He is a reference to the short-story The Snows of Kilimanjaro by Ernest Hemingway, whose name and works heavily influence much of the Nesingwary-related lore. His name is a slightly altered version of the protagonist's name, Harry (Harold) Street (Lane).
