They come in pairs, surrounded by non-elite bats.
Abilities
The most unpleasant thing about bat riders: 10 seconds after reaching 50% health they will explode for 4k fire damage in 7 yard radius. To avoid instant death, all melee (includes MT) and people that are close to them should start running away when Bat Riders have 50% of health. If they stop following you, means they will explode in couple of seconds, so you just wait aside. Also, you might just get lucky and nuke them down before they explode. But main thing to rememeber: Run at 50%, or die.
A bug in 1.12 made the bats no longer explode, but with 1.12.1 they do again.
Strategy
AoE non-elite bats and tank the bat riders away from each other and away from the raid. Avoid getting caught when they explode.
